First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes...a baby carriage? Isn’t that what all women want? Not so for Claudia Parr. And just as she gives up on finding a man who feels the same way, she meets warm, wonderful Ben. Things seem too good to be true when they fall in love and agree to buck tradition with a satisfying, child-free marriage. Then the unexpected occurs: one of them has a change of heart.

Would you try another book from Emily Giffin and/or Christine Marshall?

I love Emily Griffin but this was not her best book. I read it after reading Something Borrowed and Something Blue so I was expecting something comparable. It was terrible compared to those two. I felt cheated after reading it.

Has Baby Proof turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes! The characters were not believable.

Would you be willing to try another one of Christine Marshall’s performances?

    Yes, she did well.

The man he knew as "Control" is dead, and the young Turks who forced him out now run the Circus. But George Smiley isn't quite ready for retirement-especially when a pretty, would-be defector surfaces with a shocking accusation: a Soviet mole has penetrated the highest level of British Intelligence. Relying only on his wits and a small, loyal cadre, Smiley recognizes the hand of Karla - his Moscow Centre nemesis - and sets a trap to catch the traitor.

What disappointed you about Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy?

It was dull and boring. I could not get into it.

Has Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Yes

Would you be willing to try another one of Michael Jayston’s performances?

    Yes

What character would you cut from Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy?

I have no idea. I did not get that far into the book. I hated it.

    Any additional comments?

This just is not my type of book. If Ken Follett would have written it then I would have loved it! The idea of the book was great but the author was not. In my own opinon. I understand other people might like this type of book. I did not.

Would you consider the audio edition of Dead Ever After to be better than the print version?

I have no idea. I did not read the print version. What kind of a question is this, Audible? Because of you, I don't read books anymore.

What other book might you compare Dead Ever After to and why?

This is another stupid question, Audible. Who cares what I would compare this book to. I loved this book because it isn't like any other book. It is not your typical vampire book.

Which character – as performed by Johanna Parker – was your favorite?

Sookie. Johanna Parker is the best female reader I have ever heard in all the years of Audible books I have listened to. I crave to hear her voice. It is so entertaining! Her accent is perfect and I am from the deep south, so I consider myself an expert. :)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

HBO did a terrible job at making this a series. I was so disappointed and I think they were too. The tag line would be, "Just when you think she has had enough, Sookie goes through one more level of hell and comes out alive and stronger and more interesting than ever."

    Any additional comments?

I love this book series. I love this author. I love this reader. I am sad this is the last book. I am addicted to this series.

In a time long forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons off balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

It is entirely too detailed! Follett is much better at being detailed but not to a point that drives you crazy. Martin is too detailed and it becomes boring and you get lost in reading the details and completely forget what is really going on. The details add nothing to helping the story seem more believeable. It is just like he is getting paid by the word. What should only take 100 words to say he says it in 1,000. He wastes a lot of time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Daenerys. She is like a princess who has to go through so much and is very smart. I adore her!

Would you be willing to try another one of Roy Dotrice’s performances?

No- he was awful! He in no way mad this boring book any better. If anything he made it worse. Whoever read Edge of Eternity by Ken Follett should read these books.

Was A Game of Thrones worth the listening time?

    No

    Any additional comments?

I love the HBO series and wanted to listen to the books to understand more of the background story. However, I gave up listening to the books because they are just unbearable!

Allie believes she needs Wade in order to feel secure and happy. But when Allie finds Wade locked in their laundry room with a stunning blonde in snakeskin sandals, a scandal ensues that flips her life on its head. And when the woman wants to befriend Allie, an old flame calls, and a new guy gets a little too close for comfort, she starts to think her marriage is more of a facade than something real. Maybe she's fallen in love not with Wade - but with the idea of him.

What did you like best about The Idea of Him? What did you like least?

I liked the IDEA of the story line but the author did a terrible job at executing it. I really hoped this book was going to get better but it never it. HUGE fail!

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

All the different things that were going on led you to believe in suspense but then there was no suspense. It was a let down.

What aspect of Coleen Marlo’s performance would you have changed?

She could have changed the characters voices more. They sounded too much alike.

Could you see The Idea of Him being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No, the story line was too predictable. It would never make it as a movie.

Would you try another book from John M. Gottman and Nan Silver and/or Peter Berkrot?

I was unable to really listen to this book because the reader was so terrible. Sounds like a robot. It was TORTURE to listen to.

What could John M. Gottman and Nan Silver have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It could have sounded less like she was reading from a text book and more like a story.

How could the performance have been better?

The reader could have sounded less like a robot.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Throughout these books, Follett has followed the fortunes of five intertwined families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they make their way through the twentieth century. Now they come to one of the most tumultuous eras of all: the enormous social, political, and economic turmoil of the 1960s through the 1980s, from civil rights, assassinations, mass political movements and Vietnam to the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, presidential impeachment, revolution - and rock and roll.

What did you love best about Edge of Eternity?

I loved seeing the same period of time from many different view points. Hearing the story be told not only from different characters, but different characters in different countries during the same time period. Simply genius!

Who was your favorite character and why?

George. His intelligence is believable and makes me wish I actually knew this person is real life. His devotion to Maria as a friend is also something to be in awe of. He makes excellent decisions through the book and you can really see how he grows as a person from the beginning to the end. I would marry this man!

What does John Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

John Lee is amazing! His ability to mimic the difference accents of all the different characters from each varying region really helps you distinguish the characters. He so eloquently gives each character a life of their own and it is like they are really doing the speaking. I would not have enjoyed this book as much if I read it myself. He mad me like it ten times more!

Who was the most memorable character of Edge of Eternity and why?

George. His growth as a person is something that very few books truly capture as well as Follett is able to.

    Any additional comments?

I want to read this book over and over again. I have fallen in love with every book Follett has ever written. This one is my new favorite. He is a genius. If you get bored of reading his books then something is seriously wrong. I am not finished with the book but I will cry when it is over. I crave to listen to it.

You've either done it or know someone who has: the one-night stand, the familiar outcome of a night spent at a bar, sometimes the sole payoff for your friend's irritating wedding, or the only relief from a disastrous vacation. Often embarrassing and uncomfortable, occasionally outlandish, but most times just a necessary and irresistible evil, the one-night stand is a social rite as old as sex itself and as common as a bar stool.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, Chelsea Handler is so funny and you can't help but laugh at her stories.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Chelsea is my favorite character. Is there even another logical option?

Did Cassandra Campbell do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

She did ok. However, I have read an audiobook that Chelsea Handler narrated herself and it was amazing. Listening to someone else after listening to Chelsea just wasn't the same. So this has caused her to have an unfair rating. But it is a fact, she did not do as good as Chelsea did.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Why I Don't Give a Sh-t
