"Excellent Narration"
Yes. David Tennant performance was of course as spectacular as his theater and TV performances.
The voices were all wonderful
EMOTION!
I cried at Brave Tin Soldier
"Definitely her second book"
The story just was not as rich as Harry Potter - I know you shouldn't compare her writing like that but the story was not rich and engaging. All 7 Potter books count as her first book and the second novel curse happened to her.
Yes. I think there are still many great works in her. "Real life" just didn't really work out for her to write about.
Rich, engaging, varied
Tom Hollander has a great reading voice and is wonderful to listen to.
Not worth it.
"Tough cop is tough"
The cop main character was a little too "tough". She seemed really stereotypical and without depth.
Maybe
She was flat - like listening to a Film Noire
not really
Predictable. If you have something else to listen to then go for that.
"READ THIS! Just a GREAT "mystery""
Yes. Very layered and interesting. Great mystery and puzzler.
Mr. Penumbra. He is a very layered character and very kind.
He sounds like the young man who doesn't really know his way around the world yet.
The whole mystery/puzzle of the books was great. I would love to be in the book club.
"You will never believe where she went!"
It is in the top 20. Great story and well told.
I am not sure I have ever read a book like it. Told from the point of view of the daughter (mainly) the story unfolds in an interesting way that I can't explain without giving away a lot.
Her voice and expressiveness was great. Her voice for the daughter was childish and as the parents mature (except when the adults were acting childish).
Bernadette, you're a Mess!
Fun story. Long but worth it.
"Not a Twi-love story"
The performance is outstanding. She does accents beautifully. At one point she has to portray a snooty french aristocrat and she is perfect.
I like the occupation of the main character and the great descriptions used to identify the places she goes and the manuscripts she looks at.
Nope.
"Laugh out loud funny"
Top 10 for sure
John/Earnest - he was so calm through the whole ordeal and in the end very smug.
no
Yes and I did since it is so short
Great acting by the entire cast. Extremely funny through out.
"Excellent and Funny"
I did not read the print version but the narrator was wonderful and made the funny parts really funny.
Cassio-woof! She was just funny.
Never heard her before.
Laugh and laugh
