I did not like the side plot with his daughter Ann and Sky it totally took away from the main plot and made for a very disappointing listen. .
I have been a avid listener for sometime but after this book I would most likely not listen to or read any more of his books especially not in this series. I wish had not wasted my credit on this book.
The narration was good and I was really getting into the first part but after I saw where the side plot was going it ruined the rest of the story for me so I don't have a favorite scene.
Sky and the the whole side plot.
I have listened to all of the books in this series and have enjoyed them so when I saw this one I purchased it right away and started listening. When you've listened to or read a few books by the same author you can start seeing where they are going in a book so when Sky appeared I realized where the side plot was headed before it was even apparent in the storyline and it just ruined the rest of the book. I could never get back into main story and found I could care less how it went which is saying a lot because I was totally enthralled in the other books of this series. Mr. Krueger if you wanted to write a book with a character like Sky and introduce such subject matter then you should have wrote a separate book for that genre and not ruined a great series like you did. Stephen had it right the first time Sky and the whole side plot did not need to be in Tamarack County.
The narration is good and the storyline keeps you hooked and intrigued for the most part.
I like what Raven does to her abductor in the car.
I like the interaction scenes between Patrick and his daughter.
You could not make a film out of this book and do it justice.
This was a pretty interesting book maybe a little dark and gory for some and I think it is ironic that this series is an Inspirational book series because I do not find that they offer any good uplifting inspirations. Of course if you used the reasoning and logic of Agent Bowers inspiration does not necessarily have to be for the good and more likely people are inspired to act on the evil that is in them. I do not listen to these books for any great inspirations anyway but purely for the mystery and intrigue of the story. This book hooks you right at first and does a pretty good job of keeping your attention through out but there are a few eye roller moments, places where it tends to drag, get a little to technical and some scenes you can see coming from a long way off. Also I was disappointed in the ending with a anthropophagus gnawing its way through the chapters of the next book as I was hoping for something different to digest. Overall if you like mystery and intrigue this book does a pretty good job of delivering.
That would depend on how good of a friend they are. If they are a good friend I would recommend they buy this book to evaluate this author before spending more money on his other books. If they are a not so good friend I would recommend they buy one of this authors other more expensive books. If they are a really good friend I would tell them not to wast their time and money but if they insisted I would let them listen to my download of this audio book so they could evaluate it before spending any money on it or any of this authors other books.
I thought the Narrator did ok considering what he had to work with.
“Look, Jane, look! I have a manuscript for a new book,” Dick said. “Oh, I like new books,” Jane said. “It is for a science fiction book written by John Scalzi,” Dick said. ”Oh, I like his books,” Jane said. “Me too,” Dick said. “Let’s publish it right away,” Jane said. “That is what I said when Sally said that Jack said that John said that he hoped we would publish his book,” Dick said. “John said that?” Jane said. “That is what Sally said Jack said John said,” Dick said. “I am glad you said what you said when Sally said Jack said John said that,” Jane said. “You said it!” Dick said. “Ruff! Ruff!” Spot said.
