Socks is one happy cat. He lives with a nice young couple called the Brickers who play with him, pet him, feed him treats, and always have a warm lap for him to sit in. Then a new baby joins the family. Suddenly, the Brickers are sharing their laps and love with Charles William, and Socks is getting into all sorts of trouble.

I am a 7 year old boy. I really liked listening to this book. It's about a cat named Socks and his owners sell him to another family and after a while the family has a baby and it's really funny after that.

From coast to coast, the nation is witnessing a new wave of terror - suicide bombers incite blind panic and paralyzing fear, a flight attendant tries to crash an airliner, a police officer opens fire on fans in a stadium, and at CIA headquarters, a deputy director goes on a murderous rampage. The perpetrators appear to be American but are actually covert agents in a vast network of terror, selected and trained for one purpose only: the complete annihilation of America.

This novel was just "OK". Good enough to finish but not one of those knock your socks off edge of the seat thrillers. It seemed to me like some of the book might have been skipped and in some ways reminded me of an abridged version. Like one minute one of the main characters is in the hospital in serious condition and being confronted by her security guard and in the next scene she's with another character helping to thwart a terrorist plot. What happened in between? The plot was a little choppy and hard to follow, especially in the second part.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

First, let me say that this book did not engage me right away. I agonized through the first hour or two before I was "hooked". After that, it turned out to be one of those books I could not put down. The story is unusual and unpredictable. The people in the story are deeply flawed and mostly blind, enabling the highly intelligent and diabolical main female character to outsmart everyone else. I would have written a different ending but since the rest of the plot is so nuts, why not the ending too? Great listen. FUN!

A rich American who isn't too bright (drives an expensive American car into Soviet Russia) kicks off the plot. Information he provides to the CIA kicks off a search for "The Charm School" where it is believed many Americans are being held. A solid listen if you are interested in Cold War era Russia and the mystery/thriller genre.

I know there's not a real person named Dewey Andreas but this book seems so REAL! Love the way the author structures his plots and brings all the thread in the book to neat and satisfying conclusions. Highly recommend this listen to anyone who enjoys thrillers. Great listen! Somewhere, deep inside the United States government, is a deadly list. Members of Congress never get to see it and only the president has the final say over it. Once your name is on the list, it doesn't come off - until you're dead. Someone has just added counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath's name to the list. Somehow, Harvath must evade the teams dispatched to kill him long enough to untangle who has framed him and why they want him out of the way.

    Story

Everyone in the world seems to be gunning for Scott Harvath, Brad Thor's superhero character of all time. After his girlfriend is shot and killed, he goes to ground to try to figure out what's going on and who added his name to the "black list", a list of people to be executed by the US Government. He finds himself cut off from everyone with back-stabbers everywhere. If he makes a phone call, uses the Internet or sends an e-mail, shortly afterward there is a hit team there to take him out. He finds it almost impossible to stay hidden and "off the grid" since anything he does, says or sends is immediately visible to data aggregators at an NSA contractor gone rogue. His only allies are his long-time friend "the dwarf" and a couple others. And, he's apparently got the US government, law enforcement and military against him. How will he ever overcome this huge problem? A good edge of your seat listen. Recommend!

A music therapist who thrives on helping others, Kendra Michaels cherishes the ordinary life she has achieved after stem cell surgery restored her sight. The skills she perfected during those sightless years - the ability to pick up the most subtle audio, olfactory, and tactile cues in the world around her - coupled with her laser-sharp mind - have made her a uniquely potent observer and problem solver. Kendra’s uncanny way of connecting the dots is as baffling to law enforcement as it is legendary.

Kendra, a formerly blind child therapist, whose ex-boyfriend has gone missing, helps to solve the case of his disappearance using her exceptional powers of observation. Having previously been blind, she is able to make conclusions and observations not possible by people who have always had their sight. The story has some fun twists and turns, enough to keep you interested. The narration is very good. Recommend for Iris Johansen and mystery lovers.

When Eve Duncan gave birth to her daughter, she experienced a love she never knew existed. Eve found herself in the throes of a nightmare from which there was no escape.

I found this book to be very long-winded. After listening to the first few chapters I skipped to the second to the last chapter, in a sense listening to a very abridged version. The entire mystery is "what happened to Bonnie"? Since I had read prior Eve Duncan mysteries I knew about Bonnie and wanted to find out what happened to her. I found out but the listen was less than enjoyable. The narration was breathless and just plain odd. Don't recommend this one.

This is the fourth in a series of thrillers. The main character Jonathan Grave is one of those super human ex-military types who can take on a battalion of soldiers and win. His assignment is to exchange money for a group of people from a US mega church. Sounds easy but it doesn't end up that way. After a gunfight with the kidnappers, Jonathan, his team, and his PC (precious cargo) head north, running into many obstacles along the way. If you enjoyed the other books in this series you won't be disappointed with this one. If you are new to the series you will still enjoy it as it requires no prior knowledge of the characters. Yes, I would recommend this book to mystery/thriller readers. It's not edge-of your seat suspense but it's a good listen.

We thought we had seen the end to the Nazis after World War 2. But wait, they're BACK with a vengeance and with the most diabolical plot to take control of the world once and for all. Ever wonder why so many German scientists ended up in the US? Wonder what really happened to Adolph Hitler? Wonder no more! This story will provide answers plus take you on an entertaining thrill ride for the duration. Much of the action in the book is over the top and highly unlikely but after all, it is fiction and if you can go along with the action and not dwell too much on the unlikeliness of it all I think you will enjoy this book. Scientifically, it's interesting, and a bit out of this world. From a human perspective, it's quite scary to think people can be as evil as portrayed in the book. This isn't a book that will put you to sleep. It isn't a book that you will want to listen to an hour at a time. It's one of those you want to listen to as quickly as possible to find out what happens next. Enjoy!
