I am a 7 year old boy. I really liked listening to this book. It's about a cat named Socks and his owners sell him to another family and after a while the family has a baby and it's really funny after that.
This book took me a second try to really get interested. I'm so glad I gave it a second try as it turned out to be one of the best books I've found on Audible.
In the beginning of the story, a small girl is all alone on a dock in a place she doesn't recognize. A childless couple takes the girl in and raises her as their own, unaware of her origins. While the story is unfolding, the reader begins to wonder how the women in the story are linked (one in 1913, one in 1975 and one in 2005). By the end of the book all is clear and great mystery is resolved. This was a great listen and I look forward to listening to all of Kate Morton's books. Highly Recommend!
I enjoy the Cedar Cove tv series on Hallmark and found this book an excellent companion. Like most books which make it to TV or movies, there is just enough difference in the plot to make reading the book enjoyable. Very similar in tone to the television series. Light, romantic and fun. Plan to listen to more books in this series.
While not a fast-paced thriller, this novel was gripping nonetheless and kept me listening for hour upon hour. The author (an awesome storyteller) tells related stories from several vantage points and it's not until close to the end that you realize how they mesh. The main character is a young American girl who has distanced herself from her Jewish heritage. Seemingly by accident, she meets an old man who has a connection to one of her ancestors. He is tormented by guilt and asks her to help him. Several interesting characters and plot twists keep this novel moving at a good pace. Highly recommend.this listen.
Having listened to most of Catherine Coulter's novels, I of course decided to give this one a try and found it to be a very enjoyable listen. As are her others, it was fast-paced, thrilling and not too heavy. The female lead, Mike and the British cop are headed for something more than a professional relationship, clearly and that adds some romantic drama to this audible "page-turner". I will definitely download the next books in this series as they become available.
This novel was just "OK". Good enough to finish but not one of those knock your socks off edge of the seat thrillers. It seemed to me like some of the book might have been skipped and in some ways reminded me of an abridged version. Like one minute one of the main characters is in the hospital in serious condition and being confronted by her security guard and in the next scene she's with another character helping to thwart a terrorist plot. What happened in between? The plot was a little choppy and hard to follow, especially in the second part.
First, let me say that this book did not engage me right away. I agonized through the first hour or two before I was "hooked". After that, it turned out to be one of those books I could not put down. The story is unusual and unpredictable. The people in the story are deeply flawed and mostly blind, enabling the highly intelligent and diabolical main female character to outsmart everyone else. I would have written a different ending but since the rest of the plot is so nuts, why not the ending too? Great listen. FUN!
A rich American who isn't too bright (drives an expensive American car into Soviet Russia) kicks off the plot. Information he provides to the CIA kicks off a search for "The Charm School" where it is believed many Americans are being held. A solid listen if you are interested in Cold War era Russia and the mystery/thriller genre.
Wow! These Dewey Andreas adventures just keep getting better and better. Narration was great, plot was awesome and the pace of action was perfect. I know there's not a real person named Dewey Andreas but this book seems so REAL! Love the way the author structures his plots and brings all the thread in the book to neat and satisfying conclusions. Highly recommend this listen to anyone who enjoys thrillers. Great listen! Solid 5 ***** stars all the way.
Everyone in the world seems to be gunning for Scott Harvath, Brad Thor's superhero character of all time. After his girlfriend is shot and killed, he goes to ground to try to figure out what's going on and who added his name to the "black list", a list of people to be executed by the US Government. He finds himself cut off from everyone with back-stabbers everywhere. If he makes a phone call, uses the Internet or sends an e-mail, shortly afterward there is a hit team there to take him out. He finds it almost impossible to stay hidden and "off the grid" since anything he does, says or sends is immediately visible to data aggregators at an NSA contractor gone rogue. His only allies are his long-time friend "the dwarf" and a couple others. And, he's apparently got the US government, law enforcement and military against him. How will he ever overcome this huge problem? A good edge of your seat listen. Recommend!
Kendra, a formerly blind child therapist, whose ex-boyfriend has gone missing, helps to solve the case of his disappearance using her exceptional powers of observation. Having previously been blind, she is able to make conclusions and observations not possible by people who have always had their sight. The story has some fun twists and turns, enough to keep you interested. The narration is very good. Recommend for Iris Johansen and mystery lovers.
