"Just a great book."
This is a great collection of short stories/mini biography/life lessons all in one book. I rarely laugh at any of the many books I have listened to and this one had me laughing a lot at no time was I bored and the only draw back was it was so short.
Thanks Penn Jillette keep them coming......
"Truly great."
I am not a history person and this books stands on a very short list of history books I have read. Genghis Khan was a bad a**. It moves a little quick after you get past his death, but I would highly recommend this to anyone.
"Best zombie book to date."
When someone tells me their favorite book I tend to buy and this book was one of those situations. I got in a conversation with a co worker about books and he loves zombie books and has read anything he could get his hands on about them. He told me World War Z was his favorite and I see why. I cant remember any other book I have read that uses this Literary technique, and loved this. I prefer character development and knowing the names of people and feeling a relationship with the characters. This book uses the approach of telling a bunch of short stories of the Zombie war from the perspective of the people that experienced it which worked out great and was excellently done.
A must read.
"Hated it at first, an hour in I was Hooked."
I really hated the writing method the writer used at first. The writer uses a sushi school's students progression through the class to tell the history of sushi which at first I hated and almost skipped this book all together. but he kept giving great history facts and engrossed me through to the end. I love sushi and learned a lot about it from this book.
FYI: I been to several sushi bars since reading this book and love the idea of Omakase which means "I leave it to you." This approach has not turned out very well for me since most of the Sushi Chef's I ran into were Chinese(yes I cannot tell the difference right off between Chinese and Japanese.) They always seemed surprised by this approach and gave me a very american sushi experience. Spicy tuna rolls is something I can get at my grocery store like world market when I go to a sushi bar I want different weird things not California rolls.
"Did not like"
I think this book could have been much shorter and with less Rhetoric. He just rambles on and on. skip this one.
"A rare situation where the move was better."
This was so worth the money I was walking around work laughing at the craziness of these guys. I liked the movie so much better, but what a great read. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get a little more than what the movie had to offer.
"Cormac is a great writer"
after listening to "The Road" I wanted more from Cormac and loving his writing style I got all that audible had to offer. A must read. Anton Chigurh is the bad guy in this book and easily the most bad a** person you can get in a book without magic or unrealistic abilities. Was I the only person rooting for Chigurh? I liked him because for a murderer sociopath he has morals and sticks with what he says. He tests people and puts them on trial and keeps a straight manor the whole time with no craziness of unnecessary foul language.
"Easily a top ten listen."
A friend of mine found this book on a bench someone left and loved it so much he gave it to me. I shared his opinion and have since purchased the audio book and listened to this over and over again over the years(I bet you cant use over 3 times in one sentence). I cant recommend this more for science fiction lovers. The narration is good but i wish they would redo this with better audio production.
"Easily understood"
The author presents the information in a well thought out and easily understood way. at no point in this book was i bored or trailing off. Thanks David.
"Skip this one."
I have read and loved all the southern vampire books. This book blatantly sucks and falls far from what I expected. Why did they not use Johanna Parker for the narration?
