Entries in the Last Gunfighter series blast their way up best-seller lists and win new fans with each riveting adventure. In Sudden Fury, something monstrous is terrorizing loggers in the Redwoods. So when a timber baron puts a bounty on its head, all manner of miscreants come out of the woodwork, guns blazing, to score a quick buck. But Frank Morgan doesn’t cotton to local superstition or misfiring buffoons—and he means to find out just what the Sam Hill is going on.

Not one of the best of the Last Gunfighter series but one of the better ones.

The Bodies Left Behind is an epic cat-and-mouse chase, told nearly in real-time, and is filled with Deaver's patented twists and turns, where nothing is what it seems, and death lingers just around the next curve on a deserted path deep in the midnight forest.

Another winner in the series. What is nice is that I have not followed the series in sequence but it does not matter, each book stands on its own.

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

This will make you think. Good story that brings out the threat of a prolonged country wide disaster. The author brings out things you would not think about and moral issues that you will face when the disaster is larger, prolonged and impacts your love ones. It is excellent for understanding principles to live by, governance by and what happens when they are missing. It shows what it means to have character, honor and leadership. It shows that disasters don't always turnout the way we the movies portray them.
