This is the story of Brida, a young Irish girl, and her quest for knowledge. She has long been interested in various aspects of magic but is searching for something more. Her search leads her to people of great wisdom, who begin to teach Brida about the spiritual world. As Brida seeks her destiny, she struggles to find a balance between her relationships and her desire to become a witch.

    "Not worth the credit"
    Overall

What can I say, but that I do not like it. It is confusing. You can't be Christian and another faith at the same time. "read the bible & you will understand" The bible is against witches. I do not understand where the author was going with this book. Honestly, don't waste a credit.

Conceived on May Morning, Nell is claimed by the piskies and faeries as a merrybegot, one of their own. She is a wild child: herb gatherer and healer, spell-weaver and midwife...and, some say, a witch.

Jason Major says: "Good historical fiction"
    "Long Live Nell!!!"
    Overall

I really enjoyed the parts about Nell, her grandmother and the chicken! A times this book had me screaming in the car at the minister's daughters for the evilness in them (which are in some children & thanking God I don't have any) & pinning the blame on others & get a way with it. Just like the witch trials... It always gets my blood boiling mad.

When the author brings in an unexpected historical person is even better.

When it comes to the holidays, no story brings us back to the true spirit of giving like O. Henry’s classic "The Gift of the Magi". So this year we’ve asked some of your favorite Audible narrators—Audie Award winners Katherine Kellgren, Oliver Wyman, and Jonathan Davis—to bring to life this timeless tale, plus two more of O. Henry’s gems: "The Cop and the Anthem" and "The Last Leaf", in this holiday collection.

Words cannot express how speical this was for me. Thank you for really thinking about giving. After reading some reviews of others, you made a lot of people very thankful. And I love getting my books each month.

Best wishes for all the audible.com family.

Martha Carrier was one of the first women to be accused, tried, and hanged as a witch in Salem, Massachusetts. Like her mother, young Sarah Carrier is bright and willful, openly challenging the small, brutal world in which they live. Often at odds with one another, mother and daughter are forced to stand together against the escalating hysteria of the trials.

    "Wonderfully different"
    Overall

This was a different from what I normally listen to, but it was wonderful. The author made me feel like I was right there in Old New England. Storyline kept me so interested, that I got caught listening to it while at a meeting. It was that good.

Heiress to the red rose of Lancaster, Margaret Beaufort never surrenders her belief that her house is the true ruler of England and that she has a great destiny before her. Her ambitions are disappointed when her sainted cousin Henry VI fails to recognize her as a kindred spirit, and she is even more dismayed when he sinks into madness.

Karin says: "Good book, unsympathetic heroine"
    "LOVED IT!"
    Overall

This was a surprise to me. Some of the wording used in this made me gasp, think and than, agree. Well written & not wanting to leave the car before the end of the chapter. Thank God for the decrease in sex related themes.
