I read the story when I was a kid and remembered liking it a lot. I wanted to find something my 5 year old son would enjoy listening to on a long car ride and this did the trick. It's a cute story, just enough gross to keep kid's attention and make it funny. It's a fun little book.
I liked hearing my son say "EWWWWWWW" and laugh at the boys in the book.
It's easy to imagine what these children look like based on the sound of their voices. Jay O. painted a picture with his voice.
After reading the first book, Outlander, I wanted to hear the accents and the correct way to pronounce the different places, names, and slang that run throughout the series. I'm very glad I decided to listen to DIN instead of reading it due to all the French. I really enjoyed hearing the other languages spoken in the proper accent. Of course the story and the characters were rich and colorful...but I expected nothing less from Gabaldon.
This is a difficult choice. One that I held my breath over was when Jamie sees Jack Randall for the first time since the torture at Wentworth.
