There is just something about this book. It has a certain charm. What Ready Player One is for gamer and movie buffs, this is for the book loving set. It's written well, but the narration really brings it to life. I've never listened to Ari Flaikos before, but I will look to see what else he's narrated.

I am a fan of Graham and the Krewe books, but this is probably my least favorite. Maybe because it was early in the series? Graham has a tried and true formula for this series; haunted place, skeptic and a single krewe member to fall in love and help said skeptic. Graham has a talent for writing because she never makes you feel like you are reading the same book over and over like some authors with long running series. If you can get it on sale, get it but don't waste the credit. Unless you need a Luke Daniels fix. He does a pretty good job here, but it almost sounds like even he gets bored with the story part way through. I think I'll stick with the krewe books with the second krewe in it.

I really enjoy the Half Moon Hollow spin offs! Molly Harper is hilarious. I like Amanda Ronconi but this might have been too much for her. She did the HMH cast of characters (Jane, Gabriel, Dick, Andrea, etc. . .) well, and even the Irish accents weren't that bad. It was Nola's Boston/Irish that was inconsistent- not a deal breaker but sort of annoying. You should not let it prevent you from listening though, it's a great book!

While not my favorite, it's still an okay book. I enjoyed the beginning and the very end (the last 20-ish minutes or so) but didn't really get into the middle and what followed as much as I would've liked. I understand it's a whole different time and place but I kind of wanted to smack Alexia with her own parasol in this book. Emily Gray does a nice job as narrator, as usual.

I liked this book. The story is interesting. Alexia is fleeing England because the infant inconvenience and she runs to Italy to try to learn more about her father. I am a fan of Alexia and her parasol protectorate. Emily Gray did a nice job, as usual. My only complaint is that you hear Gray taking a breath and then there are these long pauses which can be annoying.

I admit to being bias- I am a huge Neil Gaiman fan. I mean seriously, it's Neil Gaiman! And it's free!! The story is good. Neil Gaiman writing (however loosely) about H.P. Lovecraft! I love that he reads some of his own work, he's pretty good. His American (Texan) accent isn't that great but he does try. All in all, short but good. If you're a fan it's definitely worth taking the time to download.

This book was never going to please everyone so I'm not all that surprised that there is such uproar over it. Here's the thing; people say the plot is ridiculous, but this is a series about vampires, werewolves and the fae- crazy is kind of the name of the game. My complaint is that the book is the same length as all of her other books. Being that this was the last book in the series (outside of the 'what happens to everyone' book coming out in a few months) and every character that has ever made an impact on Sookie made a brief cameo, the book was too short on explanations, plot and development for my taste. **SPOILER** I did like that Sookie did end up technically single, yes she was making her way towards someone but she's always been a character who has always had a man so it was nice to see her taking her time here.

Johanna Parker did a great job. She has done better I think, in the past but all in all I can't say too much- there were A LOT of characters in this book.

I hated the end of this book. Don't get me wrong, I understand why it happened, given the time when this book took place and all but still, it sucked. The writing was great and all, but I hate it when great couples fight. I will be purchasing the next in the series for sure! The story is an interesting one. I enjoy learning more and more about Alexia's father. Emily Gray is great, as usual- she does both male and female voices and multiple accents wonderfully!

This book is a prequel to the Iron Druid series as a whole. The book is entertaining, it is just Atticus and Oberon with a brief appearance by Hal and The Widow (I really miss her). The whole Egyptian pantheon makes for an interesting story, and is something that I hope will be further explored at some point in the future. As always, Oberon gets the best lines- when he got his mind blown it cracked me up. I am not a fan of short stories or novellas within a full length series but Hearne does pretty well in that it doesn't feel super rushed and while I wished it had been longer, there weren't a ton of loose ends at the end of the story. Hunted cannot come out soon enough, all the excerpt did was whet my appetite for more. The short story was an added bonus, it's free on his website so I'd read it already but hearing Luke Daniels read it was pretty awesome. Love this series. Love Kevin Hearne. Love Luke Daniels. Love this story.

This is the second steampunk book I've listened to. Does it count that the first was a Gail Carriger book too? I listened to Etiquette and Espionage prior to listening to this and loved it. This is a good, solid start to the series. I really liked the characters and I will be purchasing the next one. Emily Gray does a good job as narrator, all of her voices are easily discernible (with the exception of Alexia's sisters, who kind of sound alike, but I kind of think that could be on purpose?).

This one was a nice surprise. For once, it didn't start out with Gin gunning for someone. The story was good. It tied up some loose ends. It opened the door for a new big bad. Overall, pretty good. The beginning was a little weird, Fortgang sounded very breathy, almost like she was trying to be sexy (?) at a point in the book where it wasn't needed and it creeped me out a little. She took the normal Gin drawl and twisted it. It went away fairly quickly and all was good after that. It was a nice addition to the series and I can't wait for August and the next one!
