For LAPD homicide cop Harry Bosch - hero, maverick, nighthawk - the body in the drainpipe at Mulholland Dam is more than another anonymous statistic. This one is personal. The dead man, Billy Meadows, was a fellow Vietnam "tunnel rat" who fought side by side with him in a nightmare underground war that brought them to the depths of hell.

Great listen. Story well told and read! This is the first I've read of Iris Johansen but would gladly try another.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Aaron Brown says: "Unique Magic system, good plot twists."

I started listening to books to overcome the boredom of the commute to work. This book brought the boredom back.
I loved the narration but the story line was difficult to follow and the depth of descriptions made me want to hit the fast forward.
The first book I have purchased that I will not finish!
