Yes! I am not a relistener. However, the quality of this book is such that I would listen again without reservation.
The Dummy Line is unique. However, if I must compare it to another book....a detective novel without the detective. The police/sheriff are important in the believability of the book. Nevertheless, the main character isn't a super cop or a Demi God. He is a young father in a so so marriage that is faced with life changing choices along the Dummy Line!
Jeremy Arthur narrates with a southern accident, just thick enough to believe him.
I found myself hopeful as the book progresses. However, the bad guys have one ...not so bad guy. It is odd to hope that "the not so bad guy" escapes. Of course I want this dad and his family to survive.
I have 4 sons and 1 husband. I read all the time. My boys do not read as much as I would like. I think they would all enjoy this book. I was ready for the next book and hopefully the next book by Bobby Cole.
Yes, I would listen to Death on a High Floor again! Courtroom antics with well developed characters and believable interaction.
Plot kept me engaged.
The narrator, Christopher Lane is outstanding. I read and listen to many books. I haven't enjoyed a narration this much in a long while.
The Law, Greed & Courtroom Drama while experiencing subtle humor in the well developed characters!
If you like courtroom drama....this book is for you! I certainly enjoyed it and will recommend it to my attorney friends and those that enjoy books that hold the readers attention from beginning to end.
Read this book if you want to know how so many people lost their shirts and more! Plus, how politics within the FCC can and did prevent the truth being told. People lost their lives, their fortunes. Incredible!
This book is a storyline of really happened and who knew it was happening! It keep me involved mostly because I could not believe it. I kept thinking, as did the author of the book
"Will someone, anyone please stop this maniac!"
Too Good to BE TRUE!
If we are not willing to have our eyes open and own the truths in our own lives, what follows may not be pretty. Keep your head in the sand...perhaps it will end up ok....why do you care how it ends up, you had your head in the sand. However, in this book and the years that encompass the telling of this story many brilliant and market savvy people were destroyed. Harry Markopolos was the whistleblower in the Madoff case. Markopolos and his team work for years to enlighten everyone, anyone.....about Madoff.
I learned a great deal from reading this book. I learned what not to do. I am a believer "if it sounds to good to be true it probably is."
I loved Outlander. By the way, starting with Outlander, Book I of Outlander series is important.
There are so many incredible moments. I suppose when Claire first experiences the truth of the stones....without giving readers more information than necessary. I also enjoyed Claire not being so afraid that she forgets who she is.
I laughed and I cried while reading this book.
The "romantic" moments are well described and yet allows the reader to imagine the occurrence without making the words thus the experience seem cheap. I would think it very difficult to write intense moments of love between two very soulful people.
