"The ultimate game of "Survivor""
Noone gets voted off this island - they get killed. And it's not really an island, but you get the idea. Not a lot of big surprises in this book, but it was an interesting premise. Reminded me a little of "The Lottery", or maybe "Logan's Run". I think this would be a particularly good listen for a teenage girl since the main character is a sixteen year old girl, who (aside from trying to stay alive) is struggling with the usual teen insecurities and trying to understand her feelings.
"Well written, but all it did was tick me off"
Boy, I wish that every woman was able to take off for a year following a divorce and focus on nothing but themselves and their feelings. Actually, I wish every man and woman had the luxury of doing that at some point in their life, divorced or not. Unfortunately the reality that most people face is a far cry from the voyage of self-discovery this author experiences. I don't know what I was hoping for from this book, but it wasn't the whining of a mid-thirties woman who really doesn't have anything to whine about.
