I like reading but never seem to have the time so audio books are a great solution for me.

What made the experience of listening to World Without End the most enjoyable?

The integrity of the characters was faultless. That's a big deal because you never say to yourself "that character wouldn't do that" - has a result the story keeps pulling you in.

What was one of the most memorable moments of World Without End?

The demise of a VERY evil character. Don't worry, I'm spoiling nothing because there are MANY evil characters in this book!!

What does John Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

If I could have one wish in the "I'd love to meet" fantasy it would be to meet John Lee. What an AMAZING man. I can 'hear' every character in this book AND I can hear every emotion that those characters are conveying.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I listen to audio books as I am working and the were numerous times that this book literally made me gasp with surprise. Seriously!

    Any additional comments?

This book certainly has it's 'sprinkle' of soap opera but it's only a sprinkle. As this book started out I actually thought I had chosen badly, it just wasn't 'my thing' - WRONG. I'm so glad I went one or two chapters more!!!!!!

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?"

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I wasn't quite sure when it started but it kept creeping into my brain and by chapter 4 that's all I wanted to listen to. A great balance between science, monologue and hope!

What did you like best about this story?

I really liked the way in which it was written. For the most part in first person. I also liked the characters who, for me, were believable.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I don't think I have a favourite scene only because they worked so well together. It was just a great pace and kept we guessing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I like the idea that mice are worth protecting!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I should have no doubt read a bit more but I couldn't get through the first chapter. It's difficult when you don't like the lead character.

Has The Gray Man by Mark Greaney turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

What didn’t you like about Jay Snyder’s performance?

Mr Snyder's performance was probably totally fine, I just could listen to enough of it to judge fairly due to the content.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Anger and disappointment.
