"I believe there is another man inside every man, a stranger...." writes Wilfred Leland James in the early pages of the riveting confession that makes up "1922", the first in this pitch-black quartet of mesmerizing tales from Stephen King. For James, that stranger is awakened when his wife, Arlette, proposes selling off the family homestead and moving to Omaha, setting in motion a gruesome train of murder and madness.

Stephen King did such a great job with this book of stories.

I've read/watched/listened too many, many horror/thrillers in my many years, watched many gory slasher movies and never had a reaction except whether I enjoyed or was disappointed, until I listened to the stories in this book.

As I lay in bed listening as I drifted off to sleep, I found the first story very good and it kept my attention until the end (usually if I fall asleep while listening I resume listening once I awaken), this was one book taht I couldn't listen too again.

I don't know which story it was (after the first one) that freaked me out to the point that I didn't sleep the night well and could not bring myself to listen to it again to find out which story it was that disturbed me so.

Maybe one day I'll be able to listen to it again, all the way through ........ lol

    Great job Stephen King

A tale of archetypal heroes and sweeping adventures, of dragons and princes and evil wizards, here is epic fantasy as only Stephen King could envision it.

    Story

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. Stephen King did a great job tapping into the time of dragons & knights, etc.

It was an entertaining, partially lighthearted listening. Not his typical horror/thriller but a very good story nonetheless.

I found myself listening to the story more than once. The narrartor did a good job keeping you listening.

I was slightly disappointed that this was not the complete book to go with the movie.

This does contain a small exerpt of "The Box" but it also has other stories within as well. The other stories weren't bad, they just left you wanting more.

    Story

The story is very well written, has fast action with great suspense.

Dean Koontz did a great job writing this book while keeping up with the different paths that it took with the different characters.

The Narrators did a great job. The story has a lot of different twists & turns along with alot of emotions that you'll feel for different characters. You may feel that the story jumps quite a bit (as I did) tho the more that you listen the more hooked you will get and not want to put it down.

I listened to it a few times since it was so good. The voices of the narrators did such a wonderful job they kept you intently listening as well.
