"Great Read"
I was pleasantly surprised by this author. I was looking for a new series and tried her as an experiment. I hoped for the best and was not disappointed. The story was slow to build tension but the main character was easy to sympathize with. At first I thought the story was too slow but by the end of the book I was having trouble turning off the iPod. Give her a try. I think you'll like her.
"Classic Sci Fi At Its Best"
First time read for Pournelle and Niven. I enjoyed the story much. Found it to be very original and intriguing. I usually judge a story based on how well the plot grips my attention and I found this story very interesting. The narrator read clearly and paced the reading well. I recommend this book without dissembling.
"As Usual Sanderson Does Not Disappoint"
I am not finished the book as yet, however, the story is detailed, complex and interesting. I heartily recommend it to anyone who has read any of Sanderson's previous works.
"Redeems the Series"
To date, I have all 12 of Jordan's WOT series. I have to confess, that the last two books of the series began to try my patience. The pacing of the story was pedestrian at best. A very imaginitive world but too much and too long. I did not even finish book 11. I just gave up that the story would ever conclude. Then I heard Brandon Sanderson would be finishing the series so I gave it one last try and my interest in the story totally revived. Somehow, Sanderson beautifully captures the voice of each character. It really is amazing how well he does it. It is as if Jordan is still writing the story but with renewed intensity. I cannot recommend The Gathering Storm highly enough. Buy it! You will not be dissapointed.
"Another great book!"
I always judge audiobooks by how difficult I find turning them off. I found this book extremely difficult to turn off.Sanderson is original, unique and interesting. I am glad he was chosen to finish off the Wheel of Time series. I'm sure he'll do it very well. Looking forward to the third instalment of the Mist Born series.
"Be Careful"
Normally, I love Neil Gaiman's writing. He's a great story teller. Consequently, it saddens me to say that I did not enjoy this book. The story was intriguing, the narration well done but the vulgarity and language was unrelenting. I can appreciate the need for occasional profanity to underscore or emphasize feeling but this was ridiculous.
