"Dissertation"
I was interested in learning how Hannibal became the Cannibal, but that's all this book did, convey facts. Hannibal did this, Hannibal did that. There wasn't much in the way of a plot and it certainly wasn't very exciting. And this review is from someone who typically can forgo a less than stellar plot assuming the character development is there. If you're a fan of the previous books, you have to listen, but prepare yourself for a bit of a disapointment.
"Big King Fan - Very Good, Not Great"
The first 90% of this book is REALLY good. However, when we get to the part about actually saving JFK, it seems a little rushed to me. Classic King on the character development front which gets you really starting to feel for the different players. Well worth a listen!
"Classic! Love the naval combat chapters!!"
One of the very first "adult" books that I read when I was in my late teens (25 years ago). Listened to it this past week and was really happy to rediscover my old friend. I particularly like the naval combat chapters. You can really feel the tension of the sailors. Prichard is great with his performance. I'm a big fan of his (see all of Rex Stout's Nero Wolf mysteries).
