I have really come to enjoy the writings of Rhys Bowen. Her stories are quite enjoyable and are an easy read/listen. I have to admit I did not "who donit" the whole way through. There were some mild twists and turn with the story. I would recommend this book!

I thought the narration was OK. I have heard better, and was a bit disappointed. But it was not bad either, I have also heard MUCH worst narrations before.

Now, with the police suspicious of her abilities and a killer on the loose, Abby's future looks more uncertain than ever.

This is cute - not one of the greatest stories or narrators, but certainly not the worst. It's very light hearted and has some definite funny moments where I found myself chuckling.

I LOVE intense mysteries/thrillers and this is one of those series that is a good in between those intense stories. It is enjoyable!

One question, a split-second decision, and Brian Darby lies dead on the kitchen floor. His wife, state police trooper Tessa Leoni, claims to have shot him in self-defense, and bears the bruises to back up her tale. For veteran detective D. D. Warren it should be an open-and-shut case. But where is their six-year-old daughter? As the homicide investigation ratchets into a frantic statewide search for a missing child, D. D. Warren must partner with former lover Bobby Dodge to break through the blue wall of police brotherhood, seeking to understand the inner workings of a trooper’s mind while also unearthing family secrets.

This is my second book of Lisa Gardner's and I am a true fan, cannot wait to read more. I read "Catch Me" first, and that was brilliant! And this one did not disappoint. It's not a matter or whodunit, but why did she do it? But of course, the plot will take some twists and turns, and keep you guessing about 3/4 of the way through. The end begins to slow in terms of any major twists, but the suspense continues!

    Highly recommended!!

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare, woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife to reach the ultimate turning point.

It was ok - well, it was what it was. I did not have a lot of high hopes for this book, so it did meet my expectations.

There were no "wow" moments, and the story was pretty straight forward and all ends happily ever after.

I must admit I did not enjoy the narration of this book. Especially the man for Jacob, horrible - really horrible. It annoyed me, and thought I could have done a better job. The lady for Bella was better, not great by any means, but did not make me annoyed and want to rush through her part. Just that there are much better narrators out there, and these two are not at the top of the game.

This was an entertaining 'read'. The characters were fun and well done! And the narrating was excellent, actually might be one of the best narrations I have heard. I could always tell which character she was portraying by the accents.

It's not a leave you on the edge of your seat kind of mystery, I had it figured out from the get go but I did enjoy the whole story line, and would recommend it to those who enjoy a light fun read. I think the narration make the book come alive, and I am not sure that I would have enjoyed reading it, as mush as I enjoyed listening to the story be told.

Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. There he meets the freaks, grifters, and misfits that populate this world. Jacob introduces us to Marlena, beautiful star of the equestrian act; to August, her charismatic but twisted husband (and the circus' animal trainer); and to Rosie, a seemingly untrainable elephant.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The narrators of this book were FANTASTIC! Infact, I had originally tried reading this book, which my husband enjoyed, but I just could barely get through the first couple chapters. Just did not have a storyline that drew me in.

Anyhow, I read all the reviews on this book, and they were mixed at best. However, the performance of the narrators was stunning in the reviews, so I thought I would try.

Even though these two narrators really do give some amazing life to the story, and it is better then actually reading the book, but the storyline just never got interesting enough for me. I kind of kept listening hoping it would, but it never reached that point, at least not in the first half.

I have considered trying to finish the book - and maybe at some point it will - but I have less then no desire to continue listening to this book. It is remarkably too boring for me. Even if the narrators are probably some of the best out there. They truly gave life to the characters in this book, but even that was not enough for my taste.

What was most disappointing about Sara Gruen’s story?

It just was too slow for my taste. I read/listened to the first half of this book, and just couldn't get into it. It was not a storyline that drew me back. WAY....too....slow!!!

    Which scene was your favorite?

    none!

    Any additional comments?

I'm half way through the book and still don't know what it is about - I guess nothing too exiciting!

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Where does The Hunger Games rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is at the VERY top! Once I was engaged, which happened very early on, I couldn't stop listening to this book. It is brilliantly written, and well narrated. I am 33 years old and I am telling you this book is NOT just for teens. It is for all ages, and has an excellent plot, story line, and message. I am also NOT a sci-fi reader, and was a bit worried I would get bored and put this away, but it really is more than a sci-fi. It is also about life in general, a love story, day to day life, survival, mystery...it really is a lot of genres rolled up into one fabulous book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Hunger Games?

There are several moments throughout the book. Especially how Katness handles herself when in the arena and how she and Peeta's relationship slowly changes over the course of the book.

    Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this and all the books in the series to any and everyone! I promise you will be captivated!
