I prefer the audio edition because a story set in historical England should be in the language to get the effect.
None that I can think of.
a good touch
The story was okay but the narration was so bad it took away from the story. All of the men sounded like they were very old and their voices were hard to identify.
A very good read. The most memorable moment was the final birthday surprise.
Would recommend this book as well as others by Eloisa James.
Just loved it
Though the book was long, it kept my attention with its twists and turns. Characters coming from very different lifestyles and struggling to understand one another.
The book would have been nothing without his amazing performance. To bring to life the struggles of Christian, his labored speech, his anger with himself and others, you would not have been able to understand the story without him.
It made me mad not laugh or cry. The way Christian was treated by everyone except Maddie truly made me mad.
It is difficult to imagine soldiers in battle or heated love scenes or anything else when all of the characters sound like a 12 year old girl.
If it was narrated by someone else.
Good story line with strong characters.
She is a favorite narrator of mine. Thee would not have been an experience without her.
Overall good read.
Ladies need wooing
The couple learned a lot about each other, as they should in time.
Novels in this era are better with an accent
The story was good
Held you attention. Contained adventure, romance, mystery.
I did not care for the narrator.
I would try another book from Courtney Milan as long as it was not narrated by Quinn
Not sure there is a comparison.
Definitely not, slow to the point of being boring
The book yes but hampered by the narrator.
I enjoyed the book, however the narrator did not seem to get into the book. Her voice was flat and unexciting. This was a big disappointment to me.
