Character building was weak at best. story was forced, kind of amateurish. I suspect (probably dead wrong) that Brad has limited real life spook/SF experience/exposure.
same old same old. spends way too much time on artifacts and history which gets overwhelming quickly and seems to be nothing but filler material. story line was marginal. Wait for the movie, book was a waste of 15 hours.
As a SW Engineer that is getting long in the tooth (punch card days), this book inspired me to rethink my next project/effort. BOT's are the bomb......
Like a good comedian, Mark sees what is happening everyday and shares those observations in his own way to make us laugh. However in this books case there isn't much to laugh at, mostly gasping at the reality of how bad off the good old USA really is. I can see why the political class (both demorats & republiltards) wouldn't like this book because it is calling them out for their dishonesty.
i read/listen to a lot of material/subjects and this one was out there, but not in a good way. if you can't find anything better, ok. but i will not read other materials from this author.
No character building, over extended descriptions of events to fill pages, no real connection with the story line. I forced myself to listen to the end. If you can't find anything else worth reading/listening to, it's a maybe.
Interesting book, but how it ended made me question if i had actually listened to the correct final chapter? Weird at best.
I have read most (if not all) of Connelly's books and this one seemed to rush to the conclusion. The normal setup of the facts and the deciphering of them seemed very very weak. Not a good effort.
