Not at all what I expected from Gerritsen. MUCH BETTER. I loved the premise, I loved the plot line and characters. If you liked Gerritsen before you will love her now.
I was totally surprised by this book. It is GREAT and so very un-Baldacci of the past. He shows how good he is as a writer in this fantasy formated book.
Didn't know what to expect but it turned out great. I am in love with New Orleans already and this just added to it. A little slow in spots but well done. Will Patton is a wonderful narrator.
Good tension throughout the "chase" and LOTS of humor along the way. I enjoyed as much as I used to enjoy the Dirk Pitt stories.
Absolutely recommend this short classic story about war, but from the horse's point of view. Nothing like Mr. Ed or those type of talking horses. This is just a warm soul talking to the rest of us about his life. Kind of like listening to grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles talking about their experiences living through major events.
Joey - he comes alive with the words by Morpurgo and the voice of Keating.
Wonderfully read -
Wish I could have read in 1 sitting, but then I'd have been disappointed because it would have ended.
This is one of Patterson's slowest moving book I've ever read. I continually thought I would stop listening because it was boring. But I like Patterson and Paetro and was really hoping it would pick up soon. It finally did, but - I was already disappointed by that time.
Only if you can make it more inspiring, faster moving and less boring.
Excellent! Great view of the world and the USA. Suggestions for change are workable and intelligent. I sent a copy to my Senators, my Representative, my Assemblyman and my son-in-law.
Although I really liked the book, I had a hard time listening to it. It is SLOW to start, and SLOW in spots. I didn't like the reader trying to talk in accents when quoting people - English, Irish, Pakistani. This is a documentary and I didn't expect theatrics. It was distracting and created dis-ease.
I enjoyed learning about the events and the outcome, but thought it could have been told in half the words.
I really liked the story, I loved Armstead reading it. Lots of nice twists throughout the entire book. Keep writing, please. I'm looking forward to the next one.
The only thing I'd change is to get rid of the sappy music between chapters. I'd rather have dead time - I think the music takes away from the flow of the story. Please consider leaving off the music next time
