What made the experience of listening to Speaks the Nightbird the most enjoyable?

I'm delighted to find a new (to me) author, Robert McCammon, with excellent narration by Edoardo Ballerini. I was caught up in the story immediately and found I was sorry to have the book end. My next step was to download the very next book in the series and I'm off to walk the dogs with a good book in my ears.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Speaks the Nightbird?

My favorite scene is that in which the ratcatcher mesmerizes the rats. It was quite creepy and Mr. Ballerini's sing-song narration made me shiver. Great scene!! So wish I had written it myself.

What does Edoardo Ballerini bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration by Mr. Ballerini brings in wonderful accents and, since this is a suspenseful book, I felt I was transported to a dark room, listening to a great story teller and I was a bit afraid to leave the room!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Witches, demons and ratcatchers - don't go in the swamp alone.

    Any additional comments?

    I'm hooked. I'm not Rick, I'm Pat.
