"Can't work out? This will amp your heart rate!"
This was a full, rich story. I went and bought the book as I wanted to savor it with more than my ears.
Judy Anne of course. This woman deserved so much better with all she did for her family. And her 'Romeo' was a perfect match, even if it took her a while!
As she was all the characters - that's a hard call. She did a nice narration.
The author does a fantastic job with her characters and the descriptions are wonderful. As I said it made me purchase the ebook - that's quite a compliment.
"As dazzling an earful as the book is for your eyes"
I think the audio edition equals the print/ebook version - having read/heard both, I think it just depends on the mood you are in whether to read or listen.
I, too, loved the dual scene...very vivid!
Journey back in time - to an era of elegance
I love Cynthia Wicklund's historical novels - they are vivid, evocative, and captivating. I felt the transition to audio worked perfectly.
Because of one reviewers note on an 'echo' - I did not hear that when I listened on my computer with a set of headphones at all. So I think the device you listen to an audio book on is important.
There are distortion issues on older ipods, cheap MP3 players...so please do both the writer and narrator the justice of hearing an audiobook on a quality piece of equipment!
"A great romantic comedy to listen to!"
Sexy, sassy & funny
I love romantic comedies and this is a fantastic listen as well as a read. The characters work well off each other, the dialogue was quick and fun, and the audio production was
crisp and clear!
The narrator, Robin Kohn Glazer was very good. Her voice adjusted nicely to differentiate between the characters. The production quality was crisp and clear.
It's always great when the 'heard word' makes a video in your brain!
I loved the opening ...where poor Ally arrives looking like a mud-puppy to stop the wedding..priceless. Makes you laugh out loud, because you are just able to 'see' it for yourself.
I've purchased all Joan Reeves' audio books and they are classy and well done.
"Fantastic battle of the sexes romance"
Just One Look is a fabulous listen - it's funny, fast, and vivid. It would be another great exercise audio book - but you won't be able to tell if it's your workout that is making your heartrate rise or this book!
Felicia Greenfield was spot on with all the characters - but frankly when she became Dr. Matt - it was priceless.
Just One Look was such a great listen, I went back and purchased the ebook. I love doing that so I have a read as well. The writing and performance were both exceptional - so don't hesitate to purchase this romantic comedy.
"Take a trip back in time"
This is a fantastic audio book. The writing is evocative and the narration is very, very good. I like the fact the narrator was a man - John Podulka - as the primary characters are two men in love with the same woman.
I loved Kat - she was star-crossed in so many ways. Vulnerable, talented, lonely - she reminded me of Elsa in Casablanca
John Podulka brings the main character - Nick to a vibrant life. He does a great job as Ash as well...and he's brilliant in quite a few spots as Kat.
Yes, but that would be a spoiler!
Loved the author's writing...have purchased Linda Swain's Chasing Destiny and really enjoyed that novel/audio book as well.
"The story and narrator will transport you -"
I read the ebook and it was fantastic and held my attention even though this is not my normal reading genre.
The audio book was a grabber - the narrator, just filled the characters with life and a richness that made the story even better.
This is my first Veronica Giguere narration - but she is certainly a top-notch reader/character actress.
I found the entire story captivating and quite moving...bravo to author and narrator.
