According to time management expert Laura Vanderkam, mornings hold the key to taking control of our schedules. If we use them wisely, we can build habits that will allow us to lead happier, more productive lives. Drawing on real-life anecdotes and scientific research that shows why the early hours of the day are so important, Vanderkam reveals how successful people use mornings to help them accomplish things that are often impossible to take care of later in the day.

Glad it was short, glad it was inexpensive. Not a lot of information just commonsense ideas. Basically it tells you to get up early and get moving. Your brain works better in the morning. Try not to rush out of the house and start your day in a frenzy. Duh

All the stories in this collection from Stephen King are related to the Vietnam War. King fans will recognize echoes of The Dark Tower series in the collection's first story, "Low Men in Yellow Coats." As the characters develop over the next four stories, King's version of the Vietnam War becomes one of his most frightening tales ever.

It's a sad and eerie harbinger of our times that the Oprah-watching, crystal-rubbing, Whole Foods-shopping moms and their whipped attorney husbands have taken the ability to reason away from the poor schlub who makes the Bloody Marys. What we used to settle with common sense or a fist, we now settle with hand sanitizer and lawyers. Adam Carolla has had enough of this insanity and he's here to help us get our collective balls back.

Only certain friends would appreciate this

    Any additional comments?

An interesting listen, you have to have the right sense of humor and the ability to ignore the f-word. Most chicks wouldn't want to read it but I'm not most chicks, Adam Carolla makes a lot of interesting and valid points.

When we think of Detroit, we think first of the auto industry and its slow, painful decline, then maybe the sounds of Motown, or the long line of professional sports successes. But economies are made up of people, and the effect of the economic downfall of Detroit is one of the most compelling stories in America. Detroit: A Biography by journalist and author Scott Martelle is about a city that rose because of the most American of traits - innovation, entrepreneurship, and an inspiring perseverance.

What did you love best about Detroit?

I learned a lot more about the politics that were going on when I was a child

What didn’t you like about William Hughes’s performance?

The names of local places and streets are frequently mispronounced. The pronunciation of a major street in Detroit, Gratiot was almost unrecognizable. This is so distracting that it really should be rerecorded.

In the summer of 1916, Dorothy Woodruff and Rosamond Underwood, close friends from childhood and graduates of Smith College, left home in Auburn, New York, for the wilds of northwestern Colorado. Bored by their soci-ety luncheons, charity work, and the effete young men who courted them, they learned that two teach-ing jobs were available in a remote mountaintop schoolhouse and applied—shocking their families and friends.

Would you try another book from Dorothy Wickenden and/or Dorothy Wickenden and Margaret Nichols ?

It would very much depend on the subject

    Any additional comments?

You have to be very interested in the information in order to finish listening to it. I often lost track of names mentioned in the story. Based on letters, which is fine as long as you know that going in.

Ponyboy can count on his brothers. And on his friends. But not on much else besides trouble with the Socs, a vicious gang of rich kids whose idea of a good time is beating up "greasers" like Ponyboy. At least he knows what to expect, until the night someone takes things too far.

Enter the world of the Pendleton: The original owner became a recluse - and was rumored to be more than half mad - after his wife and two children were kidnapped in 1896 and never found. The second owner suffered a worse tragedy in 1935, when his house manager murdered him, his family, and the entire live-in staff.... Craftsmen and laborers working on renovations disappear or go mad.... For years, the Pendleton is a happy place, until a bad turn comes again.... Voices in unknown languages are heard in deserted rooms....
