Stephen King returns to The Dark Towerin this second, mesmerizing volume in his epic series. After his confrontation with the man in black at the end of The Gunslinger, Roland awakes to find three doors on the beach of Mid-World's Western Sea, each leading to New York City but at three different moments in time. Through these doors, Roland must "draw" three figures crucial to his quest for the Dark Tower.

    "The Dark Tower II"
    Overall

Way to much profanity. The story carries its self, but King starts nearly each sentence with profanity, and he can't seem to tell his story without constantly swearing.

What did you like best about Defender? What did you like least?

The Love scenes were something I would expect from a pre-teen. Too much focus on the sexual relationship and poorly written. Please leave the sex out of your writings, your stories are more enjoyable that way.

What do you think your next listen will be?

The story stands on it's own, solid foundation and action scenes

Have you listened to any of Dina Pearlman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but she always does a bang up job in the Kris Longkife series

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Cut out the sex scenes, yes I would.

Seven corpses are discovered in the streets of a Dragon’s fief. All identical, down to their clothing. Kaylin Neya is assigned to discover who they were, who killed them - and why. Is the evil lurking at the borders of Elantra preparing to cross over? At least the investigation delays her meeting with the Dragon Emperor. And as the shadows grow longer over the fiefs, Kaylin must use every skill she’s ever learned to save the people she’s sworn to protect. Sword in hand, dragons in the sky, this time there’s no retreat....

If you’ve listened to books by Michelle Sagara before, how does this one compare?

This is up there with her best; if you can get past all the profanity. Where did that come from? none of her other books that I've read/listened to have any profanity. Just hard to recommend this one.

After centuries, Viking vampire Leif Helgarson is ready to get his vengeance, and he’s asked his friend Atticus O’Sullivan, the last of the Druids, to help take down this Norse nightmare. One survival strategy has worked for Atticus for more than two thousand years: stay away from the guy with the lightning bolts. But things are heating up in Atticus’s home base of Tempe, Arizona....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

A number of words were mis-pronounced, To much profanity for my taste. Doesn't any know how to write without swearing?

Was Hammered worth the listening time?

If you can get past the vulgar language it's a good book.
