Constant swallowing and smacking.
The story has from funny parts especially the commentary from Jim the Newfoundland. Great zingers that had me sometimes wondering if my dogs are saying the same thing to me. This series has a lot of potential like the Dark Ones series. It took me 3 months to use a credit to listen to the book, because I was not impressed with the preview snippet. I was bored so I took a gamble with my credit. What I did not like about the book is the background noise. I could actually hear the narrator turning the pages as she was reading!!! The narrator has a smokey voice that sounds like she is smoking three packs a day and the character is in her 30s not her 60s. The worst part is the constant swallowing and smacking. I had to adjust the audio on my phone and radio to get through the book. I will continue to listen to the series, because the story line is interesting and Aisling's sidekicks are funny, but I do hope that the next books have better audios. The smoker's cough voice of Barbara is not too bad. I am getting use to her voice, but the smacking, paper shuffling, and swallowing needs to be addressed pronto.
The whole audio needs to be redone to eliminate all the swallowing, pages turning and smacking done by the narrator.
I cannot see this book being made into a film. There were too many problems with the audio on this one to imagine the story line.
Much Ado Cora
Cora telling Alec that she did not like blood suckers several times
Being in Limbo and the by play between the Alec and Cora on meeting each other
Freaking Tools Rule, Blood suckers drool.
I would recommend this whole series, but I would put more emphasis on the earlier dragon series. This was the end of the dragon series.
I have purchased several books from Katie MacAlister. Some were great reads and some not so much.
I did like that the author continued to bring in the old dragons from the earlier series to have some minor roles in the book to bring things together. I did not like how the story seemed a little forced. Like Katie was struggling to end the series once and for all.
I cannot see this book the Light Dragon series being made into a movie. It would not come out too well.
I love Janet Evanovich and will read her books. This was the first book I've read by Lee Goldberg /Scott Brick. I may be inclined to read another if they would get to the point and not dance around the answer for several minutes before getting to the point.
This was my first book I have read by Evanovich and Goldberg. I am still acquiring more of Evanovich's books.
He did bring the male characters to life better than some female narrators could do, but there were some moments that his female voices were a little too monotone.
This would be a good series but the story line needs a direct route and not some scenic tour through the woods.
Sometimes less is more. Too many details can cause the reader to zone out.
I would listen to this book over and over again. This book was so funny and it brought all of the Half Moon Hallow characters together for the holidays. Every time I replay the book I find additional things I missed the first time to make me laugh or say hmmm.
I would compare this book with the other Half Moon Hallow books by this author. The backdrop is the same, but the Molly Harper uses vivid language that has the reader thinking that they are really in the town and they are actually seeing what's going on.
I loved Ronconi's voice as Dick Chaney. It very close to a Southern. Although Dick really sounds like he is from Texas.
I did listen to the book in one sitting. All of this author's books I want to listen to in one sitting.
Will there be a continuation to the story? Molly please don't keep me hanging! I can't take it anymore!!! I need to know what happens next.
This book would rank among my top 5 audio books (Come to think of it all my top five audio books are Janet Evanovich.)
Anarchy and her blow torch. She is a riot and I would love to see her in the next book! "Wait what was I saying again?"
When Flo and Lizzie threw enchanted flour on Anarchy and turned her into a statue.
This series has been a laugh out loud detective romance book.
I am now going through Diesel withdrawals. Need more Lizzie and Diesel!I love Lorelei King as a narrator!
I am on the fence with her books after listening to this book. The first book I listened to was Not Your Ordinary Fairy Tale. It was promising and encourage me to read this book.
There was too much 3rd person narration. The story also rambled a lot, which caused me to tune out and fast forward parts towards the end. The story was too focused on describing the background, what everyone was doing, standing, sitting, etc. Due to the amount of detail to narration, the listener is not pulled into the story but instead the listener is subjected to a lecture.
Voice is to deep. Lacks range.
There should not be a follow-up book. This book was so bad with 3rd person narration that I would not spend another credit to listen to part 2.
