This book was a departure from my normal likes, but it was worth the time I spent listening. The author took two really despicable people, and made them fun to follow along with. They have little or no redeeming qualities, but this story kept me interested to see what they would do next. I liked the ending, and felt it was the only true way to end it. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars out of 5 was the length and the plot dragged in a few spots, but don't let that stop you from dropping a credit for this book.

I loved the first book, great story, great character build, great stuff. This sequel must have been written by someone else. So many extra words to say something simple, too many adverbs and adjectives. It's as if the author was required to write x-amount of words but only had a small story to work with. And, it was a dumb plot. I hate the fact I read the second story because I have no desire to see how it ends, I don't care enough about the characters to read anymore. So many fluff words for a small reward. What a disappointment.

Major Disappointment

I've said enough, to say anymore isn't worth the time.

I thought the character was fun to listen to. The reader did an awesome job of relating the high and lows of Cal through voice inflection and attitude. The story was very well written and I would listen to this story again as well as any sequels if/when written.

Any time Stacey and Cal interacted.

Joe, you are a great writer, and this book is much better than your last one, but the ending really needed to be better written. It's like, you lay out this great story, give it plot twists and charactor developements that carry me along, then it seems you needed to wrap it up and rushed the ending with a quick fix-it-all. I still enjoyed it though. It's worth the credit.

I was drawn in early to the story, and it kept me interested until the very end. My only complaint is that the book puts a charactor twist on the young vampire, that the movies or other reviews fail to recognize or acknowledge. I happen to think this twist made the story line less enjoyable, but at least be true to the book when using it elsewhere. I think Lindqvist was trying to make some kind of social statement, but it didn't need to be made here. Worth the credit though.

I have listened to this book several times now, and enjoyed it each time. What really made it fun to listen to was the author reading his book with unashamed passion. His opinions and approach to the television industry made me laugh several times outloud, and anyone who ever thought it was easy to enter and work in the TV industry needs to listen to Ian's book. Well worth the credit!

I am a huge fan of horror stories about haunted houses and ghosts and other paranormal topics. Having said that, this was very painful to listen to. I don't know if it's just dated, or if the narrator lacked the emotion behind Ms. Jackson's story, but it was hard to listen throughout and to the end. The plot was sluggish, the twists were predictable, and the climax was just plain dumb. I do not recommend this and felt my credit could have been used better elsewhere.

I really liked this book, up until the ending. The story was written well, the narrator was very good, and listening to this book was enjoyable. The ending however, felt rushed and confusing. There were story items that were not explained and I even went back and re-listened hoping to find I missed something. I'll let other readers decide on their own if it was lacking a few plot items.

Sometimes a bit confusing, but stick with it. The author ties up loose ends nicely. The only reason this did not get 5 stars is at times the author provides a list of details that tends to drag on, but don't let that stop you from enjoying this book.

This book was very enjoyable to listen to. It could only be done right with Carol herself reading it, and she does not disappoint. Funny insights, stories, and reflections. A very classy lady with a plethera of Hollywood history just waiting to be shared. Well worth the credits.
