I love fly fishing, so I was looking forward to this. Unfortunately, the story was a bit too predictable. A straight-forward romance story. Not bad, just not my favorite genre.

An enchanting New York Times and international best seller and award-winner about life, art, literature, philosophy, culture, class, privilege, and power, seen through the eyes of a 54-year-old French concierge and a precocious but troubled 12-year-old girl.

Few books have had such an impact as Wild Swans: a popular best seller which has sold more than 13 million copies and a critically acclaimed history of China; a tragic tale of nightmarish cruelty and an uplifting story of bravery and survival.

I loved this when I read it back in the 90s. It is super informative - the Maoism period was really interesting and my friends from China felt that it was a good depiction of the times. In audio form it was a bit too dense for my easy-listening, multi-tasking habits.

I like most of O.S. Card's books and I wasn't disappointed. I normally enjoy the narrator's voice - we hear him in a lot of OSC books, but it didn't quite work with this tale. Not as captivating as Pathfinder and Lost Gate. We can't wait for the next in those series.

DS11 loved it. It's like Rick Riordan for an older audience. Highschool level language and content. DS is listening to it for the THIRD time and still giggling intermittently. I really enjoyed it as well. Very original.
