I couldn't wait for the next Nathan McBride book. The only downside was that I couldn't stop listening ... And it was over all to soon ... And now I am waiting again!
It didn't disappoint. If possible it just keeps getting better. Great characters, both old and new - I LOVE both Nathan and Harv, Stone and Granger. And Jin and Lauren are great adds. Fantastic detail, intriguing yet plausible plots. Love the series!
I have listened to many Dick Hill narrations. In fact, searching by his name is how I discovered Andrew Peterson - and other authors who would soon become favorites. He is my favorite narrator, who is especially talented at defining each character with tone, cadence and attitude which both perfectly fits the character, brings them to life, and helps the story flow easily.
This is another excellent narration.
His performance is like a college lecture - monotone in cadence and pitch and tone. No emotion. Characters are not clearly defined.
I have listened to all the Harry Bosch books, and looked forward to the new release, but I truly could barely stand to listen because I found the robotic narration so irritating. I love Dick Hill and Len C is great ... Others have been okay ... But I won't ever get a book by this narrator ever again, regardless of the author or series.
One of my favorite authors and one of my favorite narrators. And they didn't disappoint. Depth of characters, which are peeled back a layer at a time throughout the novel. Good people doing bad things for good reasons. Bad people doing good things for bad reasons. Subtle twists and turns. (and some not so subtle.)
Things that make you go, "Hmmmmm."
Ron McLarty is such an easy listen. He adds a dimension to the characters that any author should appreciate!
Dick Hill is one of my top 2 narrators. He narrates clearly and brings characters and situations to life. He adds a dimension to every novel he reads by clearly defining each characters persona, and consistently maintaining it throughout the read.
