That is, until she turns a fatally wounded teenage acquaintance, and the Council pronounces her responsible for the newborn vamp until he can control his thirst.

"A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright – a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster. You think I’m talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It’s no deformity, no disease. And I’ll stay this way forever – ruined – unless I can break the spell...."

Would you consider the audio edition of Beastly to be better than the print version?

Sure because the narrator brought the book and characters to life. I love to hear the various voices.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Beastly?

When he realize that he can be good and it will be the right thing for her to let her go so she could go to find her father

What does Chris Patton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The change, because his voice got gentle. Or when the beast roars.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and I almost did it.

    Any additional comments?

It is a teen book, that is clear but it is well told. The story itself is old and moved to the present day. Nice entertainment for the ride into work.

Nothing sucks the romance out of world travel like a boyfriend who may or may not have broken up with you in a hotel room in Brussels. Jane Jameson's sexy sire Gabriel has always been unpredictable, but the seductive, anonymous notes that await him at each stop of their international vacation, coupled with his evasive behavior over the past few months, finally push Jane onto the next flight home to Half Moon Hollow -- alone, upset, and unsure whether Gabriel just ended their relationship without actually telling her.

Der dritte Teil war nett zum Hören, kommt aber an den ersten nicht heran.Die Überschriften vor den Kapiteln gefallen mir immer. Diesmal geht es um einen Ratgeber für Vampir-Liebe.

Once a devoted children's librarian, Jane Jameson now works at a rundown occult bookstore. Once a regular gal, she's now a vampire. And instead of a bride, she's an eternal bridesmaid -- which leads her to question where exactly her relationship with her irresistibly sexy sire, Gabriel, is headed. Mercurial, enigmatic, apparently commitment-phobic vampires are nothing if not hard to read.

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead.

An intricate tale of love, haunting memories, and renewal, Second Glance begins in current-day Vermont, where an old man puts a piece of land up for sale and unintentionally raises protest from the local Abenaki Indian tribe, who insist it's a burial ground. When odd, supernatural events plague the town of Comtosook, a ghost hunter is hired by the developer to help convince the residents that there's nothing spiritual about the property.

Where does Second Glance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Die Geschichte hat mich angesprochen. Jodi Picoult hat eine Gabe Geschichten zu erzählen, die berühren. Sie greift Themen auf, die verschwiegen werden und erzählt sie mit einer Sensibilität die erstaunt.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lili und 'grey Wolf'. Liebe kennt keine Grenzen.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Das Buch in dem Buch.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Als Lili die Anstalt besucht und begreift, was dort mit den Menschen gemacht wird. Ich war entsetzt und wütend...denn sowas gab es wirklich.
