I love Disney. I live in Florida. I've loved the other 4 books. I recently watched a special on Backstage Disney and saw many of the "secret" things that are written about in the series. It made me decide to take that particular tour this year.
Like Harry Potter, while it may have been written for a younger audience, I love every aspect of the story. I will admit I've always favored the villians at Disney - these books may make me change my mind. I smile, I laugh, I actually get teary throughout the book. I can't find a best part. I love this series from the first word to the last.
MacLeod brings the books alive. The accents, the attitudes. He does a great great job.
You THINK you know Disney....
I can't wait for Book 6.....this was SUCH a cliffhanger.....
I have no idea. I haven't used print in a while now.
Probably not. I just couldn't get invested enough.
Everything. If Mr. Porter hadn't been narrating, I wouldn't have listened/read.
By the time I finished book 2 I hated Savannah so much I couldn't stand it. And I hated Logan for his dependence on her and her love. This book didn't change either one of those things.
The lame main characters aside, the STORY was good -- I didn't figure it out.
Sure, Book 2 will tie into Book 3. I had to listen to it.
The end of it.
Sure, like I said, I needed to get to Book 3
I'm sure Book 2 was as good as Book 1, but I wanted to be listening to Ray Porter. I just simply couldn't wait for it to be over so I could listen to Mr. Porter narrate Book 3.
I have no idea. I don't read books any more.
The random comment comparing someone in the book to "Dr. Walter Bishop" ... I still giggle over it.
Everything. I bought this book solely because Ray Porter narrated it and because I'd already re-listened to the Joe Ledger series three times in a row and there still isn't another Joe Ledger book to listen to. I just now ordered another unknown to me author - narrated by Ray Porter.
The Control Room. That whole thing. The visualization of it. Moved me in a hugely creepy way.
I loved this book. I came into it blind. I did not know Peter Clines although the synopsis sounded like something I'd like. I was very correct. I will go look for more of Mr. Clines' books - hopefully narrated by Ray Porter.
I totally engaged with the characters, all of them.
Wouldn't this be considered a spoiler? It's too late in the book and too important to mention.
Extreme, oh boy. Junior's character made my lips curl in disgust. Vanadium made me smile. The entire last hour made me sob.
I love Dean Koontz. I doubt that there are six of his books that I haven't read. While I liked the book well enough, it took well over 3 hours to get to the meat. The next 16 hours were entertaining and sometimes nail biting. He ended it well, since it spanned so much time, but I have to say, I won't re-listen to it. It was just too disturbing all the way around. I'd rather re-listen to Frankenstein or Odd Thomas or even Moonlight Bay with its missing third book.
I love the fact that all of these "Joe Ledger" stories blend. I actually had to go back and write a timeline, including all of the shorts, so I could better follow everything. Material Witness happens early in the series. Follows Zero Tolerance.
My favorite character is always Joe. Does anyone say anything else?
Moved me? Not emotionally in the way you'd think. Creeped me out? Yeah, Jonathan did that to me in this one.
All audiobooks? Gah! That's not fair. Okay. Right up there in the top 1% for two reasons - Jonathan Maberry and Ray Porter.
Again, REALLY? Okay. Don't make me choose between Church, Joe, Bunny and Top. Just don't make me. Who do I hate? VP Bill Collins. He can't go down soon enough.
Everything. Literally. Drama. Suspense. Humor. Everything.
Yeah, but it would be a teaser and that's not fair. Let's just said it was the last couple minutes of the book.
Joe Ledger, of course
It's a bunch of shorts. Let me help everyone. Chapter 1 is a prequel to the entire series. Chapter 2 is several week after Patient Zero. Chapter 4 takes place after Zero Tolerance. Chapter 3 is a Prequel to the Dragon Factory. Chapter 6 is after the Dragon Factory. Chapter 8 is after Assassin's Code. Chapter 11 between Assassin's Code & Extinction Machine. Chapter 9 is after after Code Zero. Chapter 10 is after Code Zero. The only short NOT in this complication is Dog Days.
I have not. But since I'm finished with Mr. Ledger until the next one comes out, I've just ordered and am downloading another book solely because Ray Porter is narrating.
Really? Don't make me choose between Church, Joe, Bunny or Top. Don't make me do it.
Ray Porter brings these books to life. That being said, ALL of these shorts tell huge stories between the full Ledger books. You learn ALOT. Don't pass them up.
Right Up There in the TOP TOP TOP.
Amira in the caves.
No movies. They'd probably put someone stupid like Tom Cruise as Joe and I'd have to vomit.
I love the fact that this short ties up Book One.
I have no idea. I haven't read the print version.
Joe's really the only character in the book. As it should be.
Even though a lot of this happens in the first chapter in Patient Zero, I enjoyed this very short short alot. Joe makes me smile.
Where's Book Three?
Until the very last minute. This whole series could be called The DMS Conspiracy Theory.
All of the little critters in the Dragon Factory made me happy - and damn scared (note Tin Foil Hat above)
TIN. FOIL. HAT.
I love Joe Ledger. This series could go on forever, as far as I'm concerned. As long as NO ONE in Echo Team gets hurt.
