People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

    "Very Funny!"

I have some advice to give to readers of Christopher Moore's books; make sure to pause whenever you drink something or you might find yourself spewing liquid out of your nose. I'm just saying. Trust me.
His books are so fun! I read his book, The Stupidest Angel, at Christmas every year as a tradition!

When Columbia professor Dickson Despommier set out to solve America's food, water, and energy crises, he didn't just think big - he thought up. The vertical farm has excited scientists, architects, and politicians around the globe. These farms, grown inside skyscrapers, would provide solutions to many of the serious problems we currently face.

Jack says: "Excellent Brainstorming - Not reality"
    "A much needed concept"
    Overall

A lot of background and history, but I like that kind of stuff. The author finally gets to the main subject and treats it well. The four stars are mainly for the great concept.

  • Anna Karenina

    • UNABRIDGED (33 hrs and 39 mins)

Considered by some to be the world's greatest novel, Anna Karenina contains two plots: the tragedy of Madame Karenina, in love with a man who is not her husband; and the story of Konstantine Levin, a sensitive man whose personal philosophy is Tolstoy's reason for writing about him.

    D. Littman says: "A classic, classically read"
    "Pointless Drama!"
    Overall

Pointless drama sums up this book. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because I have to admit the writing is superb.

Listening to "any chapter in this book will increase self confidence. It reconfirms the reasons we continue to use Roger's ideas and books in our ongoing training and development programs." (Brooke Runnels, Training and Employee Communication Manager, The Biltmore Company)

    Kail says: "Nothing New Here"
    "Nothing New Here"
    Overall

I was disappointed by this book. Most of the time the author seems to be relating long lists of disjointed facts or quotes. He rarely makes comments, and when he does they are never insightful. If he would have taken the time to organize his thoughts better, maybe we could have gained something interesting from this book. I give it two stars because the information is valid.
