"Not very good"
I saw the referral from Vince Flynn and even Jack Bauer himself (Keifer S) and excitedly bought this book. Mostly it was dull and far fetched. Every ten minutes it seemed he was knowing he was going to die and making peace with it.
This should have been a practice book for him to work the kinks out for the real book. Nothing like Mitch Rapp books or the tv show 24.
"By far the worst of the three"
Very surprised to see all the glowing reviews. I loved the first book. Liked the second book alot (not quite as well as the first one.
In Beyond Exile Bourne tries to do too much and ends up with far less. Has too many characters in too many locations that become too confusing trying to keep up with them all. The story jumps around too much without giving you a heads up the road is taking a turn. You are in a flashback before you know it. The climax isn't much of a climax. Leaves way too many unanswered questions.
I was greatly anticipating the release of this book. Maybe reading the book on paper makes all the jumping around easier to follow. Listening to in just left me confused and wanting it to hurry up and be over. : <
"Grisham just not what he used to be"
I remember when Grisham was gold. You could buy his next book and know you were getting something great to read. Hasn't been that way for some time. : <
"Kevin is a funny guy"
The language is something you'd expect to hear at a truck stop at best. Once you get over the constant F-bombs it is a very funny book. I'm not a fan of his movies but I do like him.
The chapter on Bruce Willis is worth the price of the book!
"Amazing background"
This was one I could not put down. I like late night tv and was amazed at the detail Bill Carter put in to the behind the scenes. I'm still amazed Jay Leno was branded the bad guy when he was being pushed out in the top of his game. Carter does a good job showing all sides and not pointing fingers but giving the facts.
"Great book up to the lousy ending"
This book had me driving around the neighborhood not wanting to stop until it abruptly with no closing at all. I thought maybe there was a missing book. WTF. Did he just run out of tape? Don't spend six hours with this book unless you want to make up the last five chapters in your own mind.
"Should have been better"
I have been a huge Paul Harvey fan since I was a kid. I like biographies. This instead of delving deep into Harvey's life this book seemed more like a report a college student would write. It's nice knowing what the weather was like on his first day of work but I would have rather had more insight from friends and family.
"This Rocks"
I wasn't a Kiss fan growing up. I liked Beth and maybe two others. I still loved this book and call myself a Simmons fan now. A little slow at the start where he talks about his early childhood but then takes off. Good book.
