This was the perfect road trip book - the right mix of really interesting facts and fun story.
This is a great book with lots of humor - assuming that you did not live this guys life. Well written and adictive, but oddly creepy at the same time.
The courage and grace of the author/reporter, the woman, and how she brought understanding to the Iraqi people are really remarkable. She makes it so personal - funny and heartbreaking. I heard her report from Bagdad for NPR just the other day after a bombing in the green zone - I cried when I heard her voice shake. I was glad my new "friend" was Okay.
This is an excellent read/hear. I am not a mountain climber or an Everest nut, yet this book really made me get it. The real emotion is what makes it so universal.
