Dr. Charlotte Stone sees what others do not. A sought-after expert in criminal pathology, Charlie regularly sits face-to-face with madmen. Obsessed with learning what makes human monsters commit terrible crimes, Charlie desires little else from life - no doubt because when she was 16, she herself survived a serial killer's bloodbath: A man butchered the family of Charlie's friend, then left the girl's body on a seaside boardwalk one week later. Because of the information Charlie gave police, the Boardwalk Killer went underground.

What did you love best about The Last Victim?

I adored how You were never sure about the main male character, You had to figure it out on your own wether or not he was, what they said he was. I think not. ( Spoiler ) Karen Robards tells you in the book he gets disgusted by what he see's if he really was a killer, I would hedge a bet that he would have enjoyed what was going on rather than being appalled. Loved the book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Victim?

To many to count. Had me looking behind me on the way out of the house and making sure there wasn't a serial killer.

What does Ann Marie Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She made the Characters stand out and I knew their voices and emotions.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All I will say because I don't want to give to much away was when she has the candle and the incense. I was begging her to stop but could understand why she was doing it.

    Any additional comments?

I even bought the book for my sister so she could read it as well just so we could have discussions about it. I highly recommend the book!!! If you want a little paranormal, a little love interest, some laughs and a whole lot of shivers up your spine, this is the book to get!

Most girls might think twice before getting engaged to someone like Reyes Farrow - but Charley Davidson is not most girls. She’s a paranormal private eye and grim-reaper-in-training who’s known to be a bit of a hell-raiser, especially after a few shots of caffeine. Her beloved Reyes may be the only begotten son of evil, but he’s dark and sultry and deeply sexy and everything Charley could hope for. Really. But when the FBI file on Reyes’ childhood happens to land into her lap, she can’t help herself: She opens it...and then the real fun begins.

Gin Blanco, the semi-retired assassin known as the Spider. Hovering outside sexy businessman Owen Grayson's front door like a nervous teenage girl. One thing I like about Owen: he doesn't shy away from my past - or my present. And right now I have a bulls-eye on my forehead."

The first and second books were a fun listen however by the third and fourth book I wanted to scream because half of those books were the first two relived in her memory or thoughts.
It started to also become very irritating to hear the phrase "Get Dead" in every other sentence also where her knives were located... Legs, arms, back OKAY we get it.
She is suppose to be this fantastic assassin but she can't seem to assassinate anyone without being horrible hurt. I could keep going on, I was very disappointed how the book was written or rather how it was pretty much the first two books revamped a little.
Needless to say this is my last listen to this series, If you want a fun read that the characters grow try: Darynda Jones both of her book series are amazing, one for teens the other for adults. Karen Marie Moning " The fever series" and one of my all time favorite " The poison Study" from Maria Snyder.

Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley’s last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she’s insane.

I have listened to all four of the Charley Davidson books and have enjoyed them immensely, I have no patients with having to wait to see what happens next, dang it:) But book five is almost here Thank goodness!!! And of course I adore Lorelei King, She reads a couple more of my favorite authors. Patricia Briggs- Mercy Thomas series, Janet Evanovich-Stephanie Plum series.
I am so glad I found this series because some one wrote a review on the one of the Patricia Briggs books and said her name and how much they enjoyed her so whomever it was ( I can't remember) Thank you. If I could give these books ten stars I would they keep You laughing, intrigued, interested, and wanting more, THANK YOU SO MUCH Darynda Jones for having a great imagination.

If driving a piece-of-crap tow truck through the seediest part of town with a Smith & Wesson beside her means putting a roof over her son’s head, then Samantha Jones is going to be the best damn repo woman on the books. The streetwalkers, the drug pushers, the bands of looking-for-trouble punks haunting the mean streets at midnight don’t intimidate her. These are her people. The guy she finds bound and bloodied in the trunk of her latest conquest, a flashy new BMW, is a different breed entirely.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story was everything I know Karen Robards to be as a writer, The slight lisp of the narrator was annoying because the main characters name was Sam which sounded like Stham, However I could have gotten over it if the narrator had different voices for different characters. Overall GREAT STORY just couldn't get over the bad read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shiver?

Where Sam and her boy had to get out of the house.

Would you be willing to try another one of Shannon McManus’s performances?

Not now, I dont know if she is a new reader but if she is I will be willing to listen to another after she has gotten a few books done and has a grasp on how to make the characters stand out.

Did Shiver inspire you to do anything?

    Read more of Karens books:)
