It was narrated perfectly. The writing was easy and not trite.

I have tried the Game of Thrones and although the story had merit the narration was horrible. The Theft of Swords was similar in fantasy and was much better than Game of Thrones, but I think of the three The Name of The Wind was best all around.

His voice was likable and he didn't try to over do it.

Disappointing, cliche', stiff

Story content was okay, but the listening part was often difficult to get through.

Surprisingly I had to go back and look to see if John Lee narrated one of my favorite books; Pillars of the Earth. I remembered him doing a superb job and couldn't believe this was him again. The writing style didn't even seem the same and so he was only reading what was written. Sometimes I just couldn't help but role my eyes and sigh from what I was hearing. I can't help but feel let down by Follet and will think twice before listening to the next installment of this trilogy.

I have enjoyed all of the Outlander Series. Great continuing story that never disappoints.

The believability of a fictional storyline.

I can't imagine another narrator. I listen to a fair number of books and as anyone who reads this way can attest to, the performance is everything. Davina Porter has the unique ability to make you believe she is all these characters.

Claire because I love her ability to adapt.

I think it has potential to be a good on going series. Some of the writing and then performance was a little corny.

This was my first listen. I am one of those adults that likes a good fictional fantasy. I believe with great writing anything can be both entertaining and believable.

After looking at the previous reviews, I am a little sheepish to be truthful. But Tim Reynolds depictions of the characters reminded me of a children's bedtime story with a parents good hearted but feeble attempts to entertain the kids. But to be fair you can only work with what is written.

I am always looking for a good story. I did like the characters and after a little time felt better about the story. I feel the story could be enhanced by a different writing style; the vernacular was a little too 21st century. I absolutely could see this fantasy translated beautifully to screen. Each character would be more interesting with their own voice in a time sensitive backdrop.
