"Take an antihistamine"
The narrator started to sniff and sneeze, which I first thought was alien language. It distracted from the story and was quite suprising. Voice intonations were good and bizarre names sounded like they were pronounced correctly, but the sneezing/snorting was irritating.
"I've always loved Jan Ian's music"
The minute I saw that Janis Ian had an autobiography out I bought it! Then I saw that she was also performing it, and that made me even more excited to start it. I've been a fan of hers for decades, even meeting her briefly after a concert at the Univ. of Arizona in 1977 or so. I've been learning a lot about her life before becoming famous with "Society's Child" and "At Seventeen", and she even sings snippets of her songs in this great audiobook.
With the world of digital downloads, I've been able to buy some of her older releases and found out that she is coming to town in March!
THIS is the way a great autobiography should be done--read and performed by the author.
Thanks, Janis, and Audible!
"twisted is as twisted does!"
Loved the collection of short stories, with a little twist! It is great for shorter drives my husband and I take. Have been a fan of Mr Deaver for years but never read any of the short stories. I'll be back for more!
"Gripping and terrifying!"
Book 2 was as exciting and gut-wrenching as Book 1 of the Strain Trilogy. Nightmares were had by all.
"couldn't put it down"
Though painfully long, this book was extremely interesting and I really had a hard time not listening to it at every possible moment. The character development was very good. I enjoy sci-fi/fantasy books and though this one was indeed depressing at times, I enjoyed every hour!
"Alexandria"
Love the narrator and the dialects used.
"great story"
I loved the story, but the narrator was driving me crazy. Inflection was off and it just didn't seem to fit all the time.
"not my fav"
I always liked the book Star Beast, but just didn't enjoy the performance version. Maybe I've gotten too old for Heinlein's youth science fiction now, too.
"Darkly Delicious!"
I don't subscribe to Showtime TV, but really wanted to see the show "Dexter". This book was all I could ask for in a sly, witty, sick tale.
Well narrated, it moved along quickly despite the length of the audio book. I'm now Darkly Dreaming of another Dexter book coming to audio or getting it at the library.
"Doesn't suck"
This funny story was greatly enhanced by the wonderful performance of the narrator. I plan on reading more by Christopher Moore because I enjoyed this one so much.
