  • Immune: The Rho Agenda, Book Two

    • UNABRIDGED (15 hrs and 53 mins)
    • By Richard Phillips
    • Narrated By MacLeod Andrews
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Anyone who dares challenge the Rho Project is being systematically picked off. At the top of the hit man’s death list: NSA fixer Jack Gregory, and the three teenagers who first exposed the Rho Project’s dark agenda to the world. On the run for their lives, Heather, Mark, and Jennifer know that the Rho Project’s alien nano-technology has been released into the world, disguised as a miracle cure. But what they don’t yet know is that the serum has taken on a life of its own....

Orson says: "A second volume that stands alone - brilliantly"
"An amazing follow-up to the first book!"
What did you love best about Immune?

The book follows the story where book 1 left off, and ends when you just want more! All 3 books are incredible well written, and the characters seems so real! The story is captivating, and in lack of a propper "page turner" expression for audiobooks I will have to call it a "sleep stealer", I can not tell you how many times I had to extend the sleep timer another 30 minutes :)

  • Phantom: Chainfire Trilogy, Part 2, Sword of Truth, Book 10

    • UNABRIDGED (22 hrs and 51 mins)
    • By Terry Goodkind
    • Narrated By Sam Tsoutsouvas
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

On the day that she awoke remembering nothing but her name, Kahlan Amnell became the most dangerous woman alive. For everyone else, that was the day when the world began to end.

    Marie says: "Phantom Review"
"Thrilling second book in the chainfire trilogy"
Would you listen to Phantom again? Why?

As it is a part of a trilogy inside the The Sword of Truth series it would be perfect to listen to again when you revisit the series.

What did you like best about this story?

The entire backdrop of this trilogy is very exciting, there is alot of revisiting of characters from previous books. It keeps true to the main story line, the quest for unity, peace and freedom. Also the ever evolving journy of Richard Rahl. This book especially deals with alot of the questions you have from book one, but it still keeps you on the edge of your seat. You just want to hurry up and finish it so you can start on book three and the conclusion to this series.

Did Sam Tsoutsouvas do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

He does not have the same broad specter of dialects and tones to differentiate different characters. Previous narrators have done a better job. But the main problem of a series this long is that it is near to impossible to keep the same narrator for the entire series. I have heard Zed's voice in alot of different ways so far, and you can not really get a feel for a character just based on its voice in The Sword of Truth Series. That being said I must say I enjoy Sam's deep voice, it is very pleasant and the small changes he does for the different characters is enough to know the difference, I feel now in book 3 that I can start to distinguish the difference on characters based on his twist on them.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I could I would! I sneak in as much time as possible during my day to listen to books, and this one was very captivating indeed!

    Any additional comments?

If I could chose a narrator I would go for Nick Poedehl, his performance of Kingkiller Chronicles day 1 is SUPERB!
