The Great A'Tuin, the heroic turtle who supports the weight of the entire Discworld, not to mention four giant elephants, swims through the galaxy day and night with the burden of being the only creature who knows exactly where the universe is going. Philosophers have long debated where this is, and are due to find out in about 2 months. Shall they worry?

The Story that began with the first Discworld novel, the Colour of Magic has its epilogue in the second one, the Light Fantastic. Download them both, listen to them one after the other. The cover image is mistaken again, like in the colour of magic, and low resolution too. this is why they get 4 stars and not 5. Reader, Nigel IS THE READER, the one and only, perfect! He embodies the spirit od the Disc characters that Pratchett created, never boring and always perfect being Death, Rincewind or even the Luggage or any othe character! Pratchett himself confirms yet again that you can have an Epic fantasy ...even with onions!

... if I were given a chance to download part of a book I LIKED for free, and not receive this, that I do not care about, I would have appreciated my "first Listen". Then You could give us the option to complete the " first Listen" download at a discounted price for the remaining part. just food for thoughts...

  • Dune

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

    Joshua says: "Wonderful production!"
    "Like Star Wars? Avoid Dune"
    Overall

A slow epic novel, lacks rhythm if compared with most modern books. Herbert "paints" a universe, characters and a unique planet, Dune and makes you believe in it! The reader is indeed fine but sometimes lacks empahasis, and this slows down the listening a lot, specially in a book like this, which is already slow and ponderous. The cover is in very low resolution and looks poor on your screen. As for the book itself, it is a classic, so if you want to liten to a weel written sci-fi book go for it. Especially interesting is how well you come to understand and know the Fremen religion.
