Five days after Owen Zastava Pitt pushed his insufferable boss out of a 14th story window, he woke up in the hospital with a scarred face, an unbelievable memory, and a job offer. It turns out that monsters are real. All the things from myth, legend, and B-movies are out there, waiting in the shadows. Some of them are evil, and some are just hungry. Monster Hunter International is the premier eradication company in the business. And now Owen is their newest recruit.

Where does Monster Hunter International rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've listened to quite a few audiobooks at this point. Okay okay. I'm an audiobook-addict! This narrator is outstanding. His command of voices and delivery of the dry, sarcastic wit the author has written into the main character is perfect. I've not heard better. The title put me off a bit but I am really happy I tried this one. Even if this isn't your favorite genre, you won't be disappointed!

What made the experience of listening to Monster Hunter Vendetta the most enjoyable?

Another win for both the author and the narrator. Both are awesome! Can't wait for the next book in this series. The narrator is such a perfect fit and brings this 2nd book in the series to life like the first one never ended. Overall, this is my favourite series to listen to currently and have bought them all! You won't be disappointed!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Well Owen Z Pitt of course! Although, I have to say Oliver's voice portrayal of Skippy in both this and the first book had me laughing out loud, during my workout no less, making people steer a wide berth around me while giving me odd looks...

What does Oliver Wyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Oh, he absolutely brings the story to life, and does so for all of the Monster Hunter series. This voice actor was a perfect fit. I have downloaded other books based just on the fact that he is narrating. He has an amazing ability to not only alter voices so much you forget it's the same person, but to pitch the humorous sarcasm so perfectly...it's simply a work of art.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I usually limit my listening to housework and gym but I couldn't with this one. I listened to and from work, while making dinner, and any other time I could get away with it. My daughter got so used to my laughing at, well, let's face it, nothing anyone else could figure out, she often just pointed to my ears, shook her head and walked away.

    Any additional comments?

    Awesome!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I am loving these Karen Rose audiobooks! She is able to strike the right balance between thriller and romance and usually has a twist at the end that you don't see coming. Often, authors are not able to bring the serial killer spirit truly to life in a female but Karen did a brilliant job with this in this book. I only allow myself to listen when I'm exercising so getting into shape as there are so many good bits I can't wait to hear! Thanks Karen! All in all, loved it.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the twists that Karen puts in so brilliantly. You just don't see them coming.

Which character – as performed by Tara Ward – was your favorite?

I have to say, this narrator was not my favorite. Having read another book featuring Evie, I really didn't like the low-brow version of her voice which did not suit the character at all. The male voices were pretty good though and she did a good job keeping her voices consistent which much be hard.

When forensic pathologist Lucy Trask stumbles across a mutilated body with its face so badly damaged it is unrecognisable by the chess tables in her local Baltimore park, her sole concern is that it might be her old school teacher Mr Pugh. When the corpse is identified, Lucy is shocked to discover that the victim is actually another man from her past. Who killed him and why his skin is burnt with the number '1' is unclear, but it's evident that someone is demanding Lucy's attention.

If you could sum up You Belong to Me in three words, what would they be?

I am loving these Karen Rose audiobooks! She is able to strike the right balance between thriller and romance and usually has a twist at the end that you don't see coming. I only allow myself to listen when I'm exercising so getting into shape as there are so many good bits I can't wait to hear! Thanks Karen! I also enjoyed the the narration by Liza Ross, which is saying something as sometimes the narrator's voice is so distracting you have difficulty concentrating on the book. All in all, loved it.
