It began with the breathtaking Daughter of Smoke and bone... This November, the story continues in the astounding sequel, Days of Blood and Starlight Once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love and dared to imagine a new way of living - one without massacres and torn throats and bonfires of the fallen, without revenants or bastard armies or children ripped from their mothers' arms to take their turn in the killing and dying.

Where does Days of Blood and Starlight rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Difficult question! This book is harsh, brutal and heartbreaking. Very little distracts from the emotional (awful) journeys each character goes through but WOW is it beautifully written, I was enraptured, caught up, taken with and subsequently smashed along with each person. I loved it but it was draining!

    Any additional comments?

Take care, and make sure you are up for some of the tough topics of reincarnation, rape, torture, slaughter, hangings and many many more emotionally brutal relationship orientated interactions. It is a sharper version of the first book, I will definitely be reading the third and revisiting this one, it is a mindset shifter.

The work tells the story of Jane's early life, her experience at Lowood School and as a governess. Her refusal to accept Rochester's love on any but her own strictly moral terms is a passionate cry for independence.

Would you consider the audio edition of Jane Eyre [AudioGo Edition] (Unabridged) to be better than the print version?

I love both - Juliet Stevenson is awesome and I savour the story in an audio version but sometimes reading the written word has more resonance

What was one of the most memorable moments of Jane Eyre [AudioGo Edition] (Unabridged)?

I love the ending of this book - every time it makes me smile and hopeful

What does Juliet Stevenson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The accents of England - she does them expertly and some of the heart in the characters of which I am less fond. I love the audiobook!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If it is your first listening, definitely, the second, third time its about enjoying the smaller moment.

If you could sum up From Russia with Love in three words, what would they be?

    Spying in the fifties

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I can't claim as Toby did that I doubted Bond's survival but I did worry about the Bond girl and how it was all going to play out! Wonderfully fun!

Have you listened to any of Toby Stephens’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't but hungry for more! May have to listen to the new Bond just to hear more

What other book might you compare He Shall Thunder in the Sky to and why?

Its a more humorous Poirot in the desert of Egypt. Mystery and family drama with dry British wit

Who was the most memorable character of He Shall Thunder in the Sky and why?
