At the tender age of 10, Fanny Price is 'adopted' by her rich relations and is removed from the poverty of her home in Portsmouth to the opulence of Mansfield Park. The transplantation is not a happy one. Dependent, helpless, neglected and forgotten, Fanny struggles to come to terms with her new life until, tested almost to the limits of endurance, she assumes her rightful role....

One of my favourites for sure, partly for the story and partly because of a love of Austen

Hmm, Austen made none of these characters flawless and while I have my list of whom I loved least, a favourite doesn't jump out!

What about Juliet Stevenson’s performance did you like?

Love love love Juliet!! Hunt down her books wherever I can - she brings the story such richness

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Family bonds and binds.

The eastern flavour is awesome! So used to the western oriented fantasy stories that this was an escape to a different land with a new set of rules!

What did you like best about this story?

The story, whilst complex in myth, was simplistic, fast paced and humorous, my favourite bit was the eastern twist, the descriptions of people and places were magic!

What other book might you compare He Shall Thunder in the Sky to and why?

Its a more humorous Poirot in the desert of Egypt. Mystery and family drama with dry British wit

Who was the most memorable character of He Shall Thunder in the Sky and why?

Kaylin returned from the West March in one piece. Now that piece is fraying. She's not at home in the Imperial Palace - and she never intends to be. All she wants is normal garden-variety criminals and a place of her own. Of course, normal in her new life involves a dragon as a roommate, but she can handle that. Kaylin can't as easily handle the new residents to the city she polices, because one of them is Nightshade's younger brother. On a night when she should be talking to landlords in perfectly normal buildings, she's called to the fief - by Teela.

What made the experience of listening to Little Lies the most enjoyable?

Caroline Lee always gets her characters' voices just right and paces her story so that the plots flies effortlessly allowing the great writing too shine

What did you like best about this story?

The multiple character views and the mystery! Yes you start knowing a key piece of the puzzle and spend the rest of the book trying to work out how it fits, one of the those "6 months prior" scenarios, but it is done elegantly and adds a level of excitement to the read that I don't expect from Liane Moriarty

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely and one I'll be listening to again
