In the small city of Strattenburg, there are many lawyers, and though he’s only 13 years old, Theo Boone thinks he’s one of them. Theo knows every judge, policeman, court clerk—and a lot about the law. He dreams of being a great trial lawyer, of a life in the courtroom. But Theo finds himself in court much sooner than expected. Because he knows so much—maybe too much—he is suddenly dragged into the middle of a sensational murder trial.

    Overall

Well, this is definitely a 'kids' book, but a very good listen even for a mature person. I am an avid Grisham listener and this book proved a nice break. Being a grandfatther, I will be reading this book to my grandsons. The story provides a good sense of strive for what you want, be honest, think things through, help others, and most of all an education of the justicial system, abeit from a simpler approach, but very well put. Recommended for young readers.

New York Times best-selling author Tana French has won the prestigious Edgar, Barry, Macavity, and Anthony awards. As her third novel featuring the Dublin Murder Squad opens, 19-year-old Frank Mackey is waiting in vain for Rosie, who he’s supposed to run away to London with. But when she doesn’t show, Frank leaves Dublin without her—thinking never to return.

What made the experience of listening to Faithful Place the most enjoyable?

The narrator did an good job of keeping the characters voices in sync. He made it a great listening experience.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All of the characters were great, but Frank would be the favorite, followed my Ma. His character caused you to suspect him in some way at times, then other time I felt empathy for Frank. Other time to just simple hate him for what he was doing & asking.

What about Tim Gerard Reynolds???s performance did you like?

Overall a good to great voice for the characters. I like how he had Ma's voice such that you felt her presence.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely! I would pull up after a long commute and sit in the driveway just to get to a place to break for the night.

    Any additional comments?

All three books are very good. Tana writing is a refreshing change to the American writer, her characters are unique, clever, and full of personality. The narrators in all the books make the listening and experience. Tana writes with such detail you are left with a vivid image of each scene. I like how Tana takes a secondary character from each book to only bring this person to the forefront in the next book.

Originally drawn to the game by his father, Carl Hiaasen wisely quit golfing in 1973. But some ambitions refuse to die, and as the years - and memories of shanked 7-irons - faded, it dawned on Carl that there might be one thing in life he could do better in middle age than he could as a youth. So gradually he ventured back to the dreaded driving range, this time as the father of a five-year-old son -and also as a grandfather.

    Overall

Thank you for writing this book... It proves to me that for some golfing is an experience in both the sport and the social aspects of the event. The author does an outstanding job explaning how golf (or any sport for that matter) can and will engulf your life and even pull in your loved members of your family and social network similar to a 'black hole'. Definitely a good listen for those who need either a push to golf (again) or a reason to stare.

Former naval doctor Peter Crane is summoned to a remote oil platform in the North Atlantic to help diagnose a bizarre medical condition. But when he arrives, Crane learns that the real trouble lies far below on "Deep Storm", a stunningly advanced science-research facility built two miles beneath the surface on the ocean floor. The top-secret structure has been designed for one purpose: to excavate a recently discovered undersea site that may hold the answers to an ancient mystery.

    "Outstanding - A Must!"
    Overall

This is the first novel I have heard by Child and I am hooked. This book was so well written I could not wait for the next days's commute and the narrator was excellent. The characters were well defined and the plot was rich. It was very nice to listen to a book where the main characters DID NOT have an intimate relationship or any other characters. Good science fiction, though some of the science was a bit in error. I highly recommend this read.

The long-awaited new legal thriller from John Grisham is here. In The Summons, law professor Ray Atlee and his black-sheep brother are called home by their ailing father, the Judge, for a family meeting that never takes place. The Judge dies too soon, and in doing so leaves behind a shocking secret known only to Ray. And perhaps someone else.

    Overall

First of all the narrator makes this book so much more enjoyable. The plot was great, but when read with such emotional and emphasis it makes a great book an outstanding book.
As always, John produced another winner.
This is a must listen to book.
