Karen Gravano is the daughter of Sammy “the Bull” Gravano, once one of the mafia's most feared hit men. With 19 confessed murders, the former Gambino Crime Family underboss - and John Gotti’s right-hand man - is the highest ranking gangster ever to turn State’s evidence and testify against members of his high-profile crime family. But to Karen, Sammy Gravano was a sometimes elusive but always loving father figure. He was ever-present at the head of the dinner table.

Where does Mob Daughter rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    5

What other book might you compare Mob Daughter to and why?

I can't remember the book, it's in my library but it's the story of a mafia's wife. loved that book too.

What about Karen Gravano’s performance did you like?

Her honesty throughout the book, expressing the pain she felt when her dad went to prison the second time and still there. I feel for her brother and most of all, for her innocent mother.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, that part when her father went to prison the second time and she feels guilty about it. The whole book is amazing and moving.

    Any additional comments?

Overall, i felt sad seeing how she had to endure, experience and live that life. I know it made her stronger and she's out of it, but going through it was totally hard! She is in my prayers and would love to get to know her someday. She is an amazing daughter, mother, sister and human being.

On the eve of the 2012 Grammy Awards, the world learned of a stunning tragedy: Whitney Houston, unquestionably one of the most remarkable and powerful voices in all of music, had been silenced forever. Over the weeks and months that followed, family, friends, and fans alike tried to understand how such a magnificent talent and beautiful soul could have been taken so early and so unexpectedly. Honest and heartbreaking, this is a mother's story of tears, joy, and her greatest love of all: her daughter, Whitney.

If you could sum up Remembering Whitney in three words, what would they be?

    Amazing, courrageous mother!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ms. Cissy Houston, of course! As a mother of 5 and grandmother of 8, i totally understand what she went through, the pain, the worries, the sleepless nights, the love to her children. The love and worries doesn't end with our children, it continues when we start having grandchildren. It's like starting all over.

What does Robin Miles bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ms. Robin Miles is the lady who read the book, huh? Well, let me tell you. She read that book as if she was Ms. Cissy. She represented Ms. Cissy so well it's just amazing. Ms. Miles should be reading your books if the authors cannot read them. She puts her heart into the story and keeps your interest. There has been books that i buy and then don't read when i hear the booring voice of the reader. Even some authors read so horribly you want to stop reading, example: andy williams. i love his singing voice, but his reading voice is just a no no!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when her son called her to inform her that Whitney was dead. I cried so much at that moment.

    Any additional comments?

I love Ms. Cissy and Ms. Miles. Two amazing ladies.

A sworn member of the Colombo crime family in New York City, Michael Franzese was considered the biggest moneymaker in the mob since Al Capone. At age 35, he was number 18 on Fortune Magazine's list of the 50 most wealthy and powerful Mafia bosses in America. But then he did the unthinkable. He quit the mob. Franzese met Camille Garcia, who turned his world upside down with her innocent beauty. He fell in love with her, married her, and began a new life that didn't include the Mafia.

What did you love best about Blood Covenant?

I admire his courrage. It takes real cojones to go through what he went through and come out strong. This is what love does, all for his family. I am against drugs, anything ilegal and all that has to do with the mafia. It is a very dangerous life that one should never step into it. I'm very happy to see that he came out of it alive. I loved his book and his honesty. God is looking over you Mr. Franzese. Thank you for getting out of that life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

His wife for believing in him and giving him so much support to get out of the life. That is real love!

What does Michael Franzese bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

OMG, so much! There were moments when tears came out of my eyes because of his struggle of trying to get out of the life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When his father went back to jail.

    Any additional comments?

This book really moved me, mainly because of his courrage of getting out of that awful life.

Scott Brown's greatest win did not occur when he came from behind to capture the U.S. Senate seat held by Ted Kennedy. It began when he survived a savage beating at the drunken hands of a stepfather when he was barely six years old

Mr. Brown, i cannot find the exact words to express how i feel about your hard life. Listening to your experiences brought tears to my eyes because it brought so many memories of what i went through during my infancy. Since i opened my eyes to life i always had someone guy trying fundle me, rape me, or undress infront of me. The hardest is, it included my dad. I know politics has nothing to do with your book but i have to say, i call myself a democrat, but, i admire you even when you're a republican. You have my fullest admiration and a place in my heart. I wish there were more men like you in the world, it would totally be a different world. I'm a 57 years old latina who had a very hard life during my young years in my country, very poor to the point of carrying a five gallon bucket of clean water on my head to use at home for all our needs. It would bring a lot of tears in my children's eyes if i ever wrote a book about my life since they have only seen the good side of me. My faith, my love for life and my conviction that there was a light in the other side of the tunnel has me where i am now. Your name will never be erased from my mind Mr. Brown. You are in the group of my favorite heroes. May God bless you. Sincerely, Magdalena Gomez Solorzano
