If you think you know George Washington, think again. This is the amazing true story of a real-life superhero who wore no cape and possessed no special powers—yet changed the world forever. It's a story about a man whose life reads as if it were torn from the pages of an action novel: Bullet holes through his clothing. Horses shot out from under him. Unimaginable hardship. Disease. Heroism. Spies and double-agents. And, of course, the unmistakable hand of Divine Providence that guided it all.

If you could sum up Being George Washington in three words, what would they be?

Reading history as a story about an individual who selflessly dedicated his life to make us a free nation was just the medicine I needed after the indigestion left from last presidential election. This kind of character is too rare these days and the more the electorate reads about true patriots the more we will not settle for politicians who pretend to be patriots. Character is everything.

Who was your favorite character and why?

George Washington was chosen and protected because he chose to stay true to correct principles. What a contrast with today's politicians.

What about Ron McLarty’s performance did you like?

    Ron's reading was superb.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    I was inspired.

    Any additional comments?

Please find more inspiring characters in American history and right about them. We need to see what made this country great so we can see the threats to our freedom and stability.

More than a million listeners have thrilled to Bill O'Reilly's Killing Lincoln, the can't-stop-listening work of nonfiction about the shocking assassination that changed the course of American history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts in gripping detail the brutal murder of John Fitzgerald Kennedy—and how a sequence of gunshots on a Dallas afternoon not only killed a beloved president but also sent the nation into the cataclysmic division of the Vietnam War and its culture-changing aftermath.

If you could sum up Killing Kennedy in three words, what would they be?

    Gifted narcisist politician

What other book might you compare Killing Kennedy to and why?

I have not read Killing Lincoln, but I imagine they are comparable as political history, but different as to the character of the individuals

Have you listened to any of Bill O'Reilly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

How Jackque Kennedy must have felt being married to an unfaithful husband, yet she always demonstrated poise and elegance.

    Any additional comments?

I enjoyed Glenn Beck's "Being George Washington" and would recommend O'Reilly and others write books about similar inspiring characters from US history. We have so many dispicable self-serving politicians, especially in recent history. Writers need to inspire our nations's voters on the qualities of character we must demand from those we elect to guide our country. They don't need to be perfect, but the do have to have the drive to do what is write despite their own self-interests.
