The year is 1984 and the city is Tokyo.

A young woman named Aomame follows a taxi driver's enigmatic suggestion and begins to notice puzzling discrepancies in the world around her. She has entered, she realizes, a parallel existence, which she calls 1Q84 - "Q" is for "question mark". A world that bears a question....

I know literary work is a lot of effort and time. But this book is a waste of my money!

Story line started nice but after that we have way to much description and lots of tangent stories that you loose interest. Its ok I'm not sure where this is leading too!!

May be the original book is good but this version really sad!!

I've been listening to it on 3x speed just to get thru and finish it.

If I could return this I would!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

A very nice story. The circus was described very well and I felt sad my 2 year old will not be exposed to the circus of old type. A good mix of human interactions and emotions. You really fall in love with all the characters including the animals.

The readers have done a fairly good job but voice modulation and changes were ok! Not as good as the readers in The Help.

Well overall experience with Audible is great and I'll continue subscribing.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

wonder read and I highly recommend it. The reader Jenna, Bahni, Octavia and Cassandra have done a wonderful job narrating it. Many time its the accent that makes it funny and I burst out laughing on my commute.
    loverly book!
