What is reality? Ask yourself whether you can actually know the answer, much less be sure that you can know it, and you've begun to grapple with the metaphysical and epistemological quandaries that have occupied, teased, and tormented modern philosophy's greatest intellects since the dawn of modern science and a century before the Enlightenment.

What did you love best about The Modern Intellectual Tradition: From Descartes to Derrida?

The depth of understanding Prof Cahoone conveys throughout the lectures. His love of the subject was expressed brilliantly and yet dispassionately. As the series was so enjoyable, I plan to listen to the whole series again.

Written by cancer physician, researcher, and award-winning science writer Siddhartha Mukherjee, The Emperor of All Maladies is a stunning combination of medical history, cutting-edge science, and narrative journalism that transforms our understanding of cancer and much of the world around us. Mukherjee examines cancer with a cellular biologist's precision, a novelist's richness of detail, a historian's range, and a biographer's passion.

    "Amazing writing"
    Overall

Dr. Mukherjee has an outstanding grasp of the English language and writes in a way that is both scientifically deep but imminently approachable and personal. His stories of the founders of chemotherapy and the happenstance nature of discovery are electrifying. As a radiologist, this book has renewed my interest in the field of oncology and increased my knowledge of the action and significance of modern chemotherapy. Thank you Dr. M!
