Most of Lowell's books have just wonderful stories to follow. She fills her pages with characters that are rich with a completeness that rarely disapoints. The flow of the story is like a lazy river raft trip. You are part mesmerized yet alert for any dangers that may crop up along the way. I want to root for the hero's and heroines, and shoot those darn villans that keep popping up. From start to finish there is an emotional investment and ride that carries you through to the finish with a sense of rightness and completion. This is an author that I continue to go back to re-listen to her books because I always feel better for reading them. Her characters are real. Down to earth. It is easy reading in the best sense of the word. This particular book is a western. I feel like I have stepped back in time. She draws the reader into her plots and you get happily lost in another world. She makes writing seem easy when we know it is not. I would call her a wonderful story teller.

Would I eat chocolate cake again? It was a detailed fun ride of gasps, horror and yelling for the good side to win.

Monster Hunters Inc. of course

This book reminded me of Hero comic books. As I am familiar with the form of genius that does not have emotional maturity I was not surprised at Z's inability to grasp the simple practicalities as well as the emotional nuances of relationships except in their more basic forms of expression. He messed up a lot yet always came through in the long run. Monster kill. Human save.....if possible. A fun read. The monsters were scary. The Hero's gave all. The evil V's kept popping up. Action packed. Sorta like a roller coaster ride with no seat belt.

The story was too short and not filled with the usual richness of sideline characters that I am used to enjoying with this particular writer. I never buy abridged novels for this same reason. It seems like there is always something missing.

Increased the story to include more interesting characters. More mystery as I figured this one out15 minutes into the book.

The narrator was one I am very used to hearing with JD Robb.

I would add characters and depth and mystery. Not take away from the characters all ready there. I just expected more . I won't be purchasing these mini books any more. Really not worth the price or a credit. Short and lacking is not always better.

I will try not to purchase anymore books of this nature that have such a short duration. Something has to be left out time wise. I wonder how well this story could have run with more time and effort towards twists and plots.

Christine Feehan writes interesting Carpathian stories and most of the plots change from book to book which helps to keep the series fresh and interesting.

No favorites. I like them all with the exception of the female lead as explained below in "other comments".

Yes. And a very pleasent voice she has.

I usually listen in several sittings due to my own time constraints, and wanting to give the story my full attention.

I am a little tired of the female lead characters who are starting to feel more insipid. I would like to see more fire and spice in the lead female character . A little bit of bad would be appreciated for the female to grow into and out of and utilize. Not all of the power and fire should be saved for the lead male Carpathian character. In several of Ms Feehan's earlier books there have been wonderfully complicated and sometimes imperfect female leads who are not always sugar sweet. I get that the females are the light to the male's dark. Yet nothing is all black and all white. I would like a little more stirring of the female's roll. This is of course is mine own opinion. I still enjoy the series and have read each book.

Story telling is an art. She brings her art to life.

Think twice before you go into a bar owned by this Irishman. His establishments get targeted alot. Or maybe that's because as Eve might say he owns half the Universe. The odds are just there.

I hope to see many more books. I would love to see Eve and Roark start a family. That could take up maybe 3 books with murder and mayhem and cornering the market on diapers too. It boggles the imagination. :)

Oh yes. I enjoyed the story. I usually like Ms Feehans musings of Carpathians vs vampires vs human demented terminators. Please I would like the female character to have a little more, no, a lot more bounce, fire, and humor. I rank this book up there in the top fifty.

The dragon awakes. The Carpathian quakes.

Overall performance by these two exceptional narrators really awesome.

More made my blood run cold. The way Anabell was killed.

I hope to see more of this series. I would love to see the main characters not get along so well all the darn time. It's so fantaC. :) I haven't seen Ms Feehan put a Fairy into the mix yet. That might be fun.

Some day I will listen to it again. In a year or two.

I don't have one memorable moment. This is because the flow of the story was so smooth. One memorable moment slipped into another.

I enjoyed both the main female and male main characters.

It was an enjoyable read for relaxing.

I would read more from this author.

I enjoyed the humor on occassion. I thought the main female character so shallow that her awakening to a more compassionate nature unrealistic.

This story was fairly predictable. As I mentioned the humor was fun and lively in several areas.

Many expectations are placed on the heads of the narrators now. I expect a pleasent voice, that doesn't put me to sleep, and one that can distinquish each character with accents and variation as needed. This was accomplished.

The tamming of the shrew comes to mind. But I think those actors are long gone.

Pleasent innefectual read. It did not appeal for depth but made me laugh. Sometimes that is enough.

The story went on and on without much character, excitement, story plot or relief of any kind. I told myself to be patient and wait for it. I am familiar with this author and some of her other books and have truely enjoyed some of her writing. The Hero was not handsome and witty, but ripped and moodily quiet. Boring. The Heroine had to be raised on vanilla because that is what her character emoted. I hung in there and wished I hadn't Avoid this one unless you want a sleeping aide..

Fun listen. laugh out loud situations. Creative alternate universe, great romance with some some steam. . I was glad I purchased this book in audio. I waited a long time for the author to write more than this trilogy. But it never happened. I always wondered why and then somone who made comments here enlightened me. I hope she will write more. I all ready purchased the second book. The third I will get for my collection in " night of a trillion stars". I think they stand alone as individual stories. So I never minded reading or listning to them out of order.
