It is November 25, 1960, and the bodies of three beautiful, convent-educated sisters have been found near their wrecked Jeep at the bottom of a 150-foot cliff on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. El Caribe, the official newspaper, reports their deaths as an accident. It does not mention that a fourth sister lives. Nor does it explain that the sisters were among the leading opponents of General Raphael Leonidas Trujillo's dictatorship.

I was enthralled by this story and couldn't put it down. The author skillfully wove this story based on a series of historical events. Without much to work with, she brought the girls to life without turning them into heroes. The readers were also excellent.

In this exciting sequel to the acclaimed Dead I Well May Be, the mercenary Michael Forsythe is forced to infiltrate an Irish terrorist cell, confronting murder, mayhem, and the prospect of his own execution.

I totally enjoyed this book. It was my first by Adrian McKinty; I'll definitely listen to more. Couldn't stop listening-kept me on the edge of my seat more than once. The narrator was right on too. His voice brought Michael/Sean to life for me. A few times I had to remind myself this was fiction. Thanks for the great read!

When Park Ranger Anna Pigeon answers a call to historic Mt. Locust, once a producing plantation and inn on Mississippi's Natchez Trace Parkway, the last thing she expects to encounter is a naked and very dead man. His body bears what looks like the brutal scars of an S&M ritual gone terribly wrong. When the deceased turned out to be the brother of a candidate for the office of local sheriff, a host of cover-ups, hidden agendas, old allegiances, and buried secrets begins to emerge.

Never before had I read anything by Ms. Barr, but can say this will probably the last. I thought so much more could have been done with the story. She used words to describe what the protagonist was feeling and experiencing, but they fell short of bringing this character to life for me. The plot was weak and characters were two dimensional.

Heartwarming and gloriously eccentric, Dr Tom's stories capture the beauty of the Lowlands, the joys and sorrows of its inhabitants and the richly rewarding experiences of life as a Scottish country doctor.

I truly enjoyed this light, heartwarming tale. I have always felt drawn to things and stories from Ireland and Scotland (my heritage). This was a relaxing and uplifting tale that I would recommend to my friends.
