Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote...and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

What made the experience of listening to The Shining the most enjoyable?

This was a re-read in anticipation of the sequel coming soon. It felt like reading it for the first time. The context of this story has changd too, it has a lot more information than the movie did and some previously unnoticed continuity with Stephen King's Dark Tower universe now as well.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Shining?

    Jack in the bar.

What about Campbell Scott’s performance did you like?

He did a wonderful job .

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It's not as scary now that Ive known the story for so long.

In 1968, after the first zombie outbreak, Wanda Mayhall and her three young daughters discover the body of a teenage mother during a snowstorm. Wrapped in the woman's arms is a baby - stone-cold, not breathing, and without a pulse. But then his eyes open and look up at Wanda, and he begins to move. The family hides the child - whom they name Stony - rather than turn him over to authorities who would destroy him. Against all scientific reason, the undead boy begins to grow....
