    This is one of the best books I have heard (or read) in a long time. Believe it or not, the seriousness of the story is told with laugh out loud humor. The writing is so vivid you feel like you are there and the narrators deserve an Academy Award.

    Meg Langslow knew the fan convention for her actor-boyfriend's hit television series was going to be the ultimate in weird. But she came along because she figured Michael could use an occasional dose of sanity, and because it was an inspired place to sell her hand-crafted weapons. And so far, she was dealing pretty well with the costumed fans camped outside, the batch of escaped parrots and monkeys frolicking throughout the hotel, and the minefield of egos lurking behind the show's success.

    Loved the narrator! Well worth the listen! Story is not the strongest, but characters were interesting.

    Detective Catherine O'Brien and her partner Louise are given two days to find the murderer of a prominent local businessman - who was also close friends with the chief of police. The only evidence they have to go on is a missing cell phone, a stolen book, the victim's letter opener, and an ugly pair of Alpaca wool mittens.

    Do you think A Grand Murder needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No, I don't think this author was very good at portraying women detective in a good light at all and I wouldn't read any thing else she wrote that had to do with that.


    Any additional comments?

    This was such a dumbed-down version of women detectives that it was demeaning and embarrassing to the profession and I am not in that profession nor is anyone in my family, I just felt bad for anyone that was. The story was OK, but I couldn't get over the lack of depth.
